I think he wants to "download and run games on-demand" from a PC via the USB cable.

- PC with the "new tool" open and a folder structure with your gamesgames.
- NES mini able to "browse" the PC's folder structure.
- You select a game in the NES mini, then it's downloaded from the PC and launched.

(That's what I understood from his message).
So why he is talking about FTP and Telnet? :)
It's possible to do. But I'm not sure if this makes sense.

I think he means "keep telnet open" = "keep the tool in the PC open" (for file browsing in the mini, and file transfer once the game is selected).

I don't find it useful either, I don't want to have a PC on just for playing games in the mini... but AFAIK, I think this is what he's asking for.

I don't think we'll see SNES classic. In fact, NES classic could still sell a lot more (I know of people still looking for it).

They are killing it just because It's been found the way to "hack" it and they can't/don't want to fix it. They prefer to kill it and continue selling EXPENSIVE stuff in the Virtual Console.

Exactly, can't patch it ,so pull it. While I do not foresee an SNES mini anytime soon, this Christmas look for an NES Classic comeback, with a proprietary power port so no easy access to the system. Maybe more or different games, maybe not.

Have you read about this too?

So now the final score is:
Cluster, MadMonkey, et al : 16 (based on hackchi2 versions), Nintendo : 1

:D

Last edited by maande80,
how do i change the default emulator to use retroarch. I have to manually put --retroarch in global command line arguments for each game. Is there a way that will always be there possibly using global command line arguments (experts only!) under settings option in stead of always typing it in.

I have a question:

If you do not have the "dump", I can format the NES without problems?

Hi Naiki,

Just to extend/complement Naiki's question:

Some users (in this and other forums) didn't "save" a copy of the original kernel dump... now, after a couple of hakchi2 upgrades, they realized that they've lost the original dump. They only keep the last dump made with their latest version of hakchi (but that's not the original kernel anymore).

The question is: is each NES mini's first dump unique (for each console), or are all the NES mini dumps identical? Can a user "restore" his/her NESmini by using another user's kernel dump safely?

Thanks and best regards,

To clean the NES MINI I did the following:

1. download clean version of Hakchi2;
2. flash mod kernel with 30 original games;
3. flash original kernel.

Is it ok ??

I just used version 2.15 to get folders with NES, SNES, GBA and Genesis games onmy Classic Mini. Now if I want to get these games on another Classic Mini, can I just plug it to my PC and synchronize the games onto the other Classic Mini?
