Hacking PS TV won't recognize my drives

My PS TV won't recognize anything other than a 2 GB Memorex stick. I've got a 32 GB Sandisk Cruzer and a 60 GB external drive I took out of a PS3. I've tried formatting them as FAT32 and exFAT, and neither worked. Help?

Umm i dunno, maybe try blowing in the contacts slot? Or cleaning it? Maybe is not compatible due to not enough power?

The 32 GB is a flash drive. Doesn't need external power, though.

Not all devices work, it's entirely possible the things you're using simply aren't compatible. Even people with the same flash drives have had issues connecting while others don't.

I got the external drive working. The thinner power cable was plugged into a USB adapter, but that wasn't plugged in all the way. Seems it doesn't like my power strip and doesn't stay on until I used an extension cord.
