Only effect hardmoding to downgrade NFIRM for 9.2 Downgrade. Not hardmoding for backup & restore.
  1. On <= 11.2, we can using old NFIRM to allow 9.2 Downgrade on console newer than 10.6. So we can hardmoding or DSiware Transfer for install old NFIRM for this.
  2. But on 11.3, the Homemenu now require the lastest NFIRM to be able to run
  3. Which mean, if you install old NFIRM on 11.3, your console won't boot to home menu anymore.
  4. But, NAND restoring always restore the whole NAND included Homemenu, truly bring back to that version
  5. So, you can still downgrade if you have the old version back up of that console.
Ok great, thanks :)

Then i just hope that the Gateway Team releases an update as quick as possible :)
NTR seems to work again as i read in the thread of bootNTR selector

Aside from having to cancel the update nag every now and then, are there any other reasons to update to 11.3?

Unless you play a lot of Pokemon Sun/Moon, Pokebank, Smash or Monster Hunter (Generations, which is the one up to date), you don't need to.
That is, if the game doesn't lock you out from online until you "update"

CAn I use fasthax and savehax from 11.2
And update to 11.3???????????????
Yes, you can use fast/safehax on 11.2 to install a9lh [after d'grading to 2.1] and then update to 11.3 [after restoring 11.2] if that's what you mean.

So rxTools users were forced to change to a9lh, I didn't know that so much gamers still use rxTools, reading some comments on a facebook group lol

@flashmanx , you have asked this question in almost all the threads that there are, regarding the update. Multiple people has already answered.
The guy that makes the HBL and other hax payloads is actually checking and assessing the situation, since the update did block in a way the procedure to load the hbl...ON O3DS. (yet he seems to have solutions available for that in a not-so-far-future). He expects to make new payloads to for N3DS Soon!™, but we'll have to wait (Methinks Smea has already another solution. He just doesn't want to use it yet, in fear of those to be tracked and thus, beginning the shooting down of the other, less known Kernel exploits)
this isn't me asking any quiestions this was me in both post telling people who may not read both post what worked and didn't after I updated. I don't care hbl doesn't work I don't use it for anything. I'm on 11.3 and the things I use everyday all work fine.

Last edited by flashmanx,
So, just to be sure, im on luma 6.6 right now with a9lh installed, so I should just update through the system settings?

They can still using menuhax + Luma3DS. But, from the current state of 11.3 which unhackable right now, better go A9LH to be safe.

May sound like a dumb question but if I just use FBI to run cia's, should I care that homebrew launcher is broken? Or is it used during the upgrade process of Luma or anything?

If you won't care about homebrew that doesn't have CIA format, you can get rid of it.

Poor RxTools :(
I actually feel really bad that this happened and honestly want to send my condolences to you for what happened to RXTools. And this isn't me trying to troll you or anything like that. You fought an extremely noble battle and stood toe to toe with me and I respect that. You also helped me realize my own hypocrisy.
Maybe one day we will see RXTools rise from the ashes again. Either way, I hope you didn't take anything I said personal because deep down I actually respect your efforts.
