no flashing the original kernel is not necessary, just hit power button again and it does a normal shutdown and turn it back on and it works fine.
If don't play and appears black screen or C8 error you must flash original kernel, if want to add more games(if have space) or change some with the same number of total games.

c8 error on boot is not the problem. I can play games perfectly fine, I can save states just fine. With 121 games it shutsdown just fine, but if you make a screenshot for a save state show on screen it c8s when shutting down. Issue I am having is different than what you are thinking or suggesting things for

Very dumb question, but can someone quickly tell me which version of Pac-Man is on the system (Namco or Tengen)? I don't have the console with me and I am compiling my files to add later on.

Ok here's a slightly obscure one. Does anyone know if Bubble Bath Babes (or Soap Panic) is supported on the console? Here's a link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bubble_Bath_Babes

They are unlicensed games, but I cannot find what mappers they use and I do not have hakchi2 on my current computer to test it out.

Both variants load into hatchi no mapper error, not tried them on the mini though ;)

Request for @Cluster : do you think you could add an option to keep the thumbnails, but hide the blue arrow? I kinda like the look of having the thumbnails there (even if all of them don't fit), it looks a little bit like a "preview of a shelf" and fleshes out the overall look of the interface. To me it seems a bit empty without the thumbnails.

I found the rom he used. Trying it now.....

YES IT WORKS

DOES THE HAPPY DANCE
Out of curiosity, what is the major difference between this version and regular USA Contra? Feels like I'm missing something obvious. Also, I found the ROM file described in the YouTube video...do I need to apply any mapper hacks to make it work? Thanks.

(1) I've tried different cables with the same response
(2) My Surface Pro 3 only has 1 usb port
(3) Not sure how to disable the driver checking stuff and not sure about how to do the driver install... When I click the button to install that happens through the software, it responds with not finding the file
(4) I don't see the NES Mini in the device manger but hear a sound like it connects

https://gbatemp.net/threads/hakchi2-nes-mini-very-simple-pimp-tool.456256/page-51#post-7018245 has info on disabling more stuff.. also disable windows defender...

So, I went back from 121 games to 120 games and now I get no c8 error when shutting down. Issue was with 121 games and all small images deleted if I would have a screenshot of a game on the screen either the floating one or one actually saved then when shutting down it would give a c8, but if I didn't have it showing on screen it worked fine. However now with 120 games and all of the small images deleted I can add 4 save states and have a floating one showing and I get no c8.

Would love if someone could test to see if that happens across the board.

    @BigOnYa,
I don't listen? What didn't I listen at? I just want to know all the possible risks on that part
  • A @ ATEMVEGETA:
Hayato even said it's dangerous to backup the save files to CFW
  • A @ ATEMVEGETA:
how is this dangerous? A ton of people did this it's the most common thing to do with CFW
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
    Then do it

    dude, whatever
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Not trying to hate, I tried to help you in the switch noob thread by asking for you, but you don't want to accept the answers you got, so do whatever then.

@BigOnYa, Man, first of all thanks for your willing to help, much appreciated. But, it's not that I "don't want to listen", rather than I need soemone to EXPLAIN to me how and why all these are risky.

  • A @ ATEMVEGETA:
For example, HOW is is risky to get banned if you extract the save files to the CFW?
  • A @ ATEMVEGETA:
isn't this proccess be done while you're offline?
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
We are not Nintendo, so we don't know exactly how/why/when they ban, but better to stay on the safe side and not do shady stuff, if you don't want to be banned. Hayato is one of the most knowledgeable ones here on the subject and I believe what he says.

    300 bucks hmmm lol
  • A @ ATEMVEGETA:
@BigOnYa, Yes ofc we don't know how Nintendo bans work, but if there are situations where a lot of people have tried safely then we can at least assume that this path is pretty much safe. To say don't try anything homebrew relative just to be safe forever is the easiest thing to say to someone. What I am trying to figure out here is with which cases and what actions got most of the people their bans for.
  • A @ ATEMVEGETA:
Most things I can find resulting to a ban is save-editing reasons, like Pokehex, etc, and going online afterwards.
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
I'm almost certain fucking Google fibers modems blocking out PPPoE signals
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Like the 6th time I had to reboot this router trying to get PPPoE active
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Ken, your hamster inside it is hungry. Can't you turn POE on/off in your WiFi settings page? Or is it not staying on?

  • A @ ATEMVEGETA:
@BigOnYa, Well, in that thread they say it's pretty much safe to manage save files back and forth to consoles as long as you don't go online with cheats activated or with a pirate game.
  • A @ ATEMVEGETA:
I own every of my games legit with their own cartridges

also, I'm not planning to use any cheats, etc, just continue the normal gameplay on the emulator
