I think the only way around the long loading time to read folders is to use Mocha or some kind of CFW that uses the libfat fix; otherwise we need to suffer from not using a CFW. Thanks for confirming that
the builds have been fixed. Gonna spam-load Snes9x ROM loading to test it out.
You are right, I forgot to load the CFW first, because I was hurrying to test it out. It's fine when using a CFW. :D

The last build I tested didn't, the devs said that this was intentional, I think, and I don't know if we need to make a GitHub bug report or feature request or not, because since the cores are individual apps (and that RA Wii U won't be consolidated for an undetermined amount of time)... I don't know why Snes9x said Snes9x after loading a ROM. I think it's kind of trivial but I don't know if it's worthy of asking for that feature to be removed.

I'll record a video of showing it.
That'd be nice!
I think the individual cores should be able to autoload them on boot, and leave only the non-loaded core build to the main RetroArch app itself.
That might be why they did that, for the general Retroarch app, but the individual cores suffer from this.

That's what I'm thinking, not sure if I want to report it though, as the devs are swamped as it is; I mean granted, I know the 1.4.0 version is a beta test build and they want feedback before 1.5.0 is finalized. Yet, at the same time, I feel bad bringing it up at all. I just don't know, maybe someone else will file a report on GitHub instead of me

I don't have CBCH installed, but can I load Mocha via HBL without that menu popping up/skipping it instead? :P

Nah I say it's okay like that, just leave it like that. Maybe down the road it will sort itself out.
But if you say the core is detected when loading a ROM, then there is nothing wrong :P

It's not so much that it detects it, but that it gives a choice of what core to choose after loading the ROM for that core; like Snes9x, you open a ROM and previous builds just auto loaded it up. Now it asks to choose the core irrespective of the fact that Snes9x is the only choice for the core when loading Snes9x, that shouldn't happen, it's weird :P

The Randomizer > I have no problem with the Home button with this way of doing, seems to work fine everywhere.

Oh well, maybe it'll get sorted out down the road.

Yes, set the option to auto-load. I can't remember exactly what the option is called, but it's in there, and then Mocha will save the config to auto-load on your SD card. BTW, I use Haxchi to load Mocha from the SD card, or if I press the A button it will load HBL, without loading Mocha, and that's what I was doing when testing, because I didn't want to wait for Mocha to load up. :D

I don't have that set up currently, just Haxchi standard and the standalone Mocha app, I think someone mentioned a way to hold down the A button or something and then from there on it auto configs to just load the app without the advanced menu, no entirely sure though :P
:rofl2: - Definitely made me laff!! Different time zones man.... the bloke you posted was from the UK, and is 7 hours in front of you...;)
Whatever, I'm human, I make mistakes, no need to rub it in.

I am almost sure it is a problem with the Hotkey not binding to the Pro controller.
Search around inside the controller options and go inside the Hotkey menu, there you can bind the Home menu of the Pro controller to Return to Menu.
Settings > input > hotkey bind > menu toggle (bottom of the list)

I map menu toggle to be in the right stick click :3, it didn't allow me to use the Home button for some reason, neither Power button in my Wii U ProCon

Thanks! I knew it was somewhere around Settings -> Input but couldn't remember the correct path.

Likely a minor bug with the emulator bindings, the new controllers were only just barely supported as of yesterday, so I think that a minor glitch is to be expected.

I was thinking it's not really a bug but they reserved those buttons to the gamepad only, just a guess, maybe they are hard coded.

Ugh, I hope not, I don't using the game pad to be honest.

Fba alpha, fceumm, gambatte, gen plus/ working great. Just tested lynx and dsi crashed on second rom.

Have you tested Snes9x mainline yet (not 2010 but the other version)?

Just to let you guys know, mocha is NOT needed anymore.
All system menu hacks come with a haxchi install or coldboot haxchi install.
In fact having mocha along side haxchi is redundant as the hacks are then loaded twice without a reason, so booting takes longer with mocha.

Rednand is not needed anymore also or is the hb booter channel.
Haxchi is all in one.
