My daughter is having trouble Wondertrading with Pokemon Moon online.

She keeps getting an error 002-0123 - which I believe is a header error.

I use a private header from one of my own backups it starts with C2 which I believe Pokemoon Moon also does (Although I could be wrong).

The 3DS is not banned, the eShop works as does other online games (Mario Kart)

Some of Pokemon Moon does go online i.e the Mystery Gift, just the wondertrade does'nt work...

She does not want to update to Luma, nor do I want the work installing the Cia's, she likes the Gateway menu...

I have formatted the Red Gateway to Fat32 for the 3dz iso's and had to split the pokemon rom to 2gb parts (3d0 & 3d1). Is this what is causing the online issue?

I've read that I can use exFat for the red Gateway card, but just can't get it to work - I always get a filesystem error...

My final resort would to install uit as a Cia, but I have to clone and resize the 3DS's SD to 8gb (or more) as it is only 4gb.

Can anyone shed any light on how to get it to work? either the split rom or how to use exFat?

Thanks

Splitted roms wouldn't work online, even when the header is correct.

Your SD card must be formatted as EXFAT.
This will gives you the possibility to copy over files bigger than 4GB (and copy Pokémon Moon over)

Just redownload or rip the rom, inject your privated header and rename the extention to .3dz.
Than just drag&drop your pokémon moon to your sd card.

Note: Take a backup of the save data before doing this steps, otherwise you will lose your savedata.
Than let the game make new savedata (with the new rom), than restore the save backup.

Thx for the reply...

Do you mean, format the red gateway microsd to exfat, because I've tried that with a sandisk 64gb, and I keep a file system error... Maybe I'll try another microsd... or a different cluster size.
Thanks for the tip about saving the data, I suspected that there might be an issue if I use a different rom

I mean the micro sd card that goes into the gateway 3ds flashcard.

Just format it to exFAT (with standard cluser size)
The standard inbuild Windows tools will do.
If you got errors while formatting, try another sd card.
The current sd card may be a fake one, damaged or corrupted.

Thanks mate! for confirming which card...
I have already tried that...
I'll try again with a different card this time

I am having the same issue, but I am very confused by what you mean.

I dumped my cartridge to a backup, combined the 2 files, have it set as a 3DS (It wont let me do 3DZ for some reason...) and converted it from card 1 to card 2. It has worked FLAWLESSLY, minus the fact that, like the OP, I cannot access the internet.

How would I go about making this work? I am very confused by what you said. My MicroSD is exFat, my main SD card I can convert to exfat if needed (right now it's FAT32, and it's 8gig)

Do I have to make it a CIA? if so...how?

If it's your own dump there's no need for a private header, you could try just changing the extension manually from 3ds to 3dz. I'm not sure but it might work.
To install the CIA - If you run emunand install the freeshop CIA, and download pokemon directly from Nintendo, it saves the hassle of manually converting, the only thing to remember would be to backup your save and inject it back to the CIA version.

As to my problem, 3 Sandisks 64gb all bought from different vendors (not ebay) don't work with my gateway on exfat, my samsung 64gb works lovely however!! so I will be using that. Guess I won't be buying Sandisk again... I'm just transferring all the roms over to the new SD. When It's done I'll test the online and upadate this thread later....

A quick update... All online stuff working now. I simply needed a single file rom and not a split one.

Many thanks to those that helped :-)
