Okay so here's my story: I have a 3DS XL and the analog stick cap shattered because of Super Smash Bros. I went to install a new cap, and in doing so, the clip that holds the circle pad's ribbon cable down to the motherboard fell off, making it impossible to secure the cable to the motherboard. Would it be safe to put a little superglue onto the broken components to hold them down, or would that fry my motherboard?

it won't fry the motherboard, but putting super glue to hold the cable down won't do anything either, this would require replacing the connector to make it work again
I've got it held down with electrical tape and it is working ATM. I just don't trust the tape to KEEP it held down.

I'm impressed/surprised taping the connector down works.

It will only be safe if you're sure the glue is non-conductive.

the connector is... what, exactly? the thing the ribbon cable inserts into? that's secure on the motherboard. there's a black lever type thing that holds the ribbon cable down, ans thats the thing that fell off. Im surprised as well, to be honest. it is working, I just dont want to have to hold the 3DS like it's so fragile that an evil glare might break it into pieces too small to reassemble.
