You wont get unbaned if you format, but if you do this and format the unban 3ds (the one that wasn't banned in the first place), you'll generate a new FC, so they won't ban both 3DS for having the same FC.

And you don't need to format to reset the FC, you can delete 2 files in nand

Has anybody tried using the same LocalFriendCodeSeed on two different consoles? Asking as a friend and I are both banned and he is the only one who has a spare 3DS to take the file from.

We saw the same risks being made for people using VPNs to play Fallout 4 early. Street dates are strict. They're not something developers and retailers are going to take lightly. They want to keep contracts, so they make more money in their pocket. They also don't want people spoiling the fuck out of innocent others who didn't ask to be spoiled.

Uh, the EULA/TOS actually mean something. They're clearly intended on making you liable for anything you do, so it prevents lawsuits. Did you not hear about the Steam gambling for Counter Strike? That shit wasn't in the EULA/TOS or whatever, and there is an ongoing class action lawsuit for underage gambling.

You also didn't have to play the game online before street date either. That is YOUR responsibility. We saw the same shit with Call of Duty years ago of people playing the games before street date and getting console bans. I don't know what is hard to understand about this. I'll respond to a few points:

The CSGO lawsuit is not ongoing. In fact, it was dismissed.

Fallout 4 VPN bans, what? First I've heard of this. Unless you specifically meant the "risk" of getting banned.

Man up to the responsibility? I've already stated I didn't care except for the fact the system had a capture board in it. Unbanning is easy.

Yes they could escalate the issue but in every case that an escalation has happened they will not tell you how long it will take. Even something as simple as a system transfer request or an eshop purchase restore can take days/weeks because they have to go through proper channels to get it handled.

For me it changed to a brand new one, it was neither the FC from the banned or the "clean" 3DS.

Makes me wonder if you can keep deleting the friend NAND data to keep getting new friend codes? If so, what's stopping people from sharing LocalFriendCodeSeed_Bs if they aren't uniquely identifiable (could be wrong on this).
