So, basically, I decided to install a9lh by following Plailect's guide from square one on my n3DS (9.5.0.22E)... Been really reading a lot on the net, and I followed the guide by the letter so trust me, all files were at the right place on my sd. At the half (I guess?) of the downgrade operation I got nintendo's black error screen...

Of course, I read that there is a very small chance of a softbrick and I really didn't expect this... So there's like, nothing I can do besides force update to the latest version (in other words, bye bye to homebrew for now? :( )

3DS is working fine after booting it up without sd.

I hope I'm asking the question in the right place, and that someone can help me on to what to do next.

Thank you!

Re-do browserhax and downgrade again

Or use whatever hax you have

Here is a guide:
Boot 3ds without SD.
Put SD in.
Boot hax.
Re-downgrade.
Profit.

Hmm so I repeated everything again and this time have successfully downgraded to 9.2.0 (at least that's what the app said), then I deleted the EUR folders on my sd, but now for some reason I don't have bootable homebrew at start anymore :S should I set it up again?

Continue with the guide, if it doesn't tell you to set up menuhax again then it's not important.
I'm pretty sure it does though.
Edit: By the way, it's not a softbrick if it boots fine without the SD.

currently dumping sysNAND via Decrypt... I see the otp thing approaching... This is something that's bugging me for days and I can't seem to find a straightforward answer on the net... So, on the n3DS i DON'T have to obtain the file, right?

I am grateful for your help and very sorry for asking noob questions :) If it weren't for you I'd probably just assume i softbricked and update to the latest firmware

Yup, n3ds doesnt have to obtain it(it didnt when the guide was updated)...

Edit: Yup, this was at the bottom of that page you are looking at: If you are on New 3DS, reboot with (Start) and continue to Installing arm9loaderhax

On the Installing arm9loaderhax make SURE you read the section for New 3DS and not the one for Old 3DS as on New 3DS you dont downgrade to 2.1

I successfully followed the guide to the end. Guess the downgrade was pretty much the only hassle due to its crashing (which gave me quite a scare there lol). So, now that I have a9lh installed, I can use my 3DS normally, access eshop, play online with cias, and update the system to the latest firmware?

If I got it all right, I should just keep luma and a9lh up to date and all's good, right?

The whole experience can be frightening, trust me, it was an ordeal for me, but it was worth it, I now enjoy a N3DS with a9lh on latest firmware and it works like a charm!
Not to mention it works twice as fast as before (When it had emuNAND).

Yes, just update luma and your 3ds and then you can do (pretty much) whatever. :)
