ROM Hack Question about formatting gateshark codes

Hello, i have a few simple questions about gateway cheats:

1. Can you create sub-menus (and sub-menus for sub-menus)?
2. Can you comment out whole lines?
3. Can you comment a cheat line? (like explaining what the line does, after the actual cheat code, like "XXXXXXXX YYYYYYYY //Replace YYYYYYYY with XYZ"

Lol that sucks, i'm trying to use a cheat that have like:
[++Sub-menu++]
[Cheat]
[--]

And it's not working, might it be because of it then?

it only supports simple format
[name upto 32 characters]
