Hacking Quick Question!

I just hardmodded my 3ds and it went pretty smoothly. I don't understand what to do next though. I'm following the guide here. But as far as verification it says to run the homebrew launcher. I have omega ruby to do the entry point for basehaxx but in the tutorial for basehaxx it also says to run the homebrew launcher. So im a little confused.

You need primary exploits such as Ninjhax, Freakyforms (See here for the list of exploits).

Omega Ruby is secondary which means you need to have access on a primary exploit in order to install the payload on your game. If you have a hacked 3ds with you, you can install basehaxx using that one then afterwards use it on your hardmodded 3ds to access homebrew launcher.

I thought i hardmodded to avoid this stuff. It doesnt say anywhere in the hardmod tutorials here that you need a game too. Neither of the two games you linked are available on the eshop. Is all i can do now is hope i can find the game locally?

You hardmod to downgrade the NFIRM to 10.4 but still you need a way to access homebrew launcher on your current firmware to be able to downgrade to 9.2. Here are yout options(I think) you can do, ask a friend who has a hacked 3ds and use that to install basehaxx on your Omega Ruby, or If he by any chance has Cubic Ninja or FreakyForms, borrow it. Else you need to look for either games locally, or Amazon/Ebay.

If you have powersaves & OOT3D then yes. What was your previous firmware anyway before hardmodding?

11.2.35. I can't even really tell if the hardmodding worked honestly. But i messed up and bricked my 3ds, reverted the nand and then did it again with a patched nand. the 3ds started up so im assuming it worked even though the version number is the same.

I might be missing something here but doesnt the person offer the save in the forum? So all i gotta do is get the game?

It's meant to be the same firmware as it is after hardmod. The only way to check if the NFIRM has been downgraded correctly is by opening 3DSident, which ofcourse needs homebrew launcher access. if you see this on 3DSident:

• Kernel version: 2.50-11
• FIRM version: 2.50-11

Then you successfully downgraded your NFIRM to 10.4. You can proceed to downgrading to 9.2 and install a9lh afterwards.

I just ask on Discord, powersaves only works on cartridges

How about buying OOT3D in amazon? Or for sure, there's a nearby local store which you can by a physical OOT3D.

You think its alright to undo the hardmod after you downgrade it? I mean i dont think i'll need to use it again right?

It's alright to undo it, just make sure to do it correctly. But it's nice to have a hardmod, it's another means of restoring a brick system.

So i just got my power saves in. I cant seem to figure it out. Which save should i be using? Again i freshly hardmodded it and did nothing else. i dont know what firmware i'd be running since it wont show me. the thing it does show me says 11.2.0.35 But again i hard moded it and i think it should be 10.4.0

when i use the 10.7.0 save linked in the original powersaves forum(at the bottom) it loads up, screen glitches out. then it says "an error has occured please save your game and restart the system"

You should inject 11.1.0-34(it's the same thing as 11.2) and no, your 3ds is still on firmware 11.2.0-35, the only thing that has been downgraded was your NFIRM.

I see now. I went through the whole thing and its perma hacked now. Do you know anything about the banning thing btw? Do you get banned just for going online if your 3ds is hacked? was reading about it earlier.

You wont get banned unless you cheat (like using ilegal pokemon or ntr cheats). Recent bans had been because of people playing a game that hasnt been released

Also its worth mentioning i did all this to play the fore mentioned game early. I dont think i turned off the internet either lol. Though i only played like 5 minutes.

powersaves wont get you banned unless you créate soething tht cannot be made into the game, and you'll only get banned if you use a online feature (wonder trade,festivel, etc)
