So my problem is that I have to double click on everything, opening windows, double clicking just to select a program, double clicking to open a YouTube video;basically everything. This happens after I got back from school and the last time I was on was the morning of the day I posted this thread.

So did my laptop catch a virus/malware of some sort? (EDIT: Using wireless mouse; not the track pad.)

Using Malware Bite, and Total Protection Plan (BitDefender.)

It could malware related, what I find to be more likely though is the mouse is on the way out (assuming you are not double clicking on a trackpad and using an actual button). When the first click fails is your second any harder? Trackpads and mice have switches which do wear out. Replacing one on a laptop can be annoying but it is possible, most would buy a new trackpad assembly or just use a normal computer mouse rather than soldering a new switch in but that is not always so bad either.
There are settings for double click and related tasks as well in windows control panel, I tend to find it more useful when coming the other way and having oversensitive buttons (also a failure mode) but you might find something in there. Equally if you did have it set to do the highlight selects and single click launches the option might have been disabled or reverted by an update.

For youtube does your browser ask you to activate flash or anything?

Reboot your computer into safe mode and see if the problem keeps happening.
I tried it with and without networking; I still face the same problem.

I should've mentioned that I have a wireless mouse; surprisingly, everything works fine on the track pad (at the moment), I found this problem using my wireless mouse.

Can you plug the mouse into another computer and test it there? Maybe change the batteries in it?

Sadly no other devices to plug in my wireless mouse for the time being. I also tried to change the battery with some fully charged one's and I still face the issue. Weird thing is now I have to press and hold for almost a brief second to select/open something. So we can assume its the mouse right?

Wireless mice are still mice when all is said and done and can still suffer switch failure just the same. If you replaced the batteries and it still shows, or indeed shows what you say is now happening, then I would definitely look towards the switches.
New mouse or it by some miracle you can find a replacement switch (nobody cares if a capacitor is 3mm different dimensions, a switch though...) then I guess you can solder that in. Occasionally I find that the mice have the same button so if you have a fancy 7 button mouse you might be able to sacrifice a lesser used button if you really want.

Quick test perhaps. In said windows options will be an option to change left and right buttons so the right is the primary. What goes there?

Just changed it and the left side doesn't respond as well. So it's just that, as for the right, its still perfectly fine. Able to click even when switching options from left to right.
