After doing some reading on this, definitely not user-friendly, which is fine. That's to be expected for something as complex as NAND dumping and hacking, I'd best hold off given the potentially dangerous nature of this. It is very cool, don't get me wrong, but this isn't for me. Nevertheless, I'll belread up on it and check out how it's to be done just so I can learn more about it.

Okay! Here's this for real, if a few people on 8GB 5.5/5.5.1 could run iosu.elf until they get a reading with 'mlc01 (wfs):' and report that line, that'd be awesome.
Sorry for basing this on unstable public code again, it's the easiest thing since I don't have to worry about forking our own code and redistributing it pre-launch...

I assume this won't do anything more than simply display lines, right?
We just copy all the files to SD:\WiiU?

Copy just iosu.elf to sd:/wiiu/apps/iosu/iosu.elf and launch through HBL. The rest of the files are me redistributing source as it's just a minor change to code that's not mine.

@WulfyStylez mlc01 (wfs): Capacity 7328 MB, 15007744 logical blocks of size 512 B
Thanks! For future reference then, if non-SALT devs don't know this yet, 32GB is 0x3A20000 sectors and 8GB is 0xE50000 sectors. Anyways I'll drop by again once there's more progress to report on our end.

I'm curious. Why did yesterday's test gave different results between testers?

so only a 32GB card is required for a 32GB model (premium Wii U pack)?

And if I format sysNand to unlink Nands.... I lose all my saves and stuff, right?

Just fyi, this isn't completely correct. It seems to depend on what MLC IC you have in your console. From what I read there is a Toshiba and a Samsung version of the MLC IC. My WiiU for example has an MLC with 0x3A3E000 sectors. Though I saw other users having 0x3A20000 sectors as you said. In the changes I did to the iosuhax dumper this is read directly from the device info struct and handled accordingly. It is not hard coded anymore as it was before. It also detects the size of the SD card with that method which then checks if you got enough space on the SD card for a dump before doing one (e.g. at least 16GB for 8GB console).
