Hello all,

I have an odd issue with removal of a hardmod from my 3ds XL. Now, when I turn it on, it intermittently works but will not read the SD card. Then, it will BSOD if I reboot and may keep doing this, sometimes 5-10 times, or every retry for an entire day. If I try to boot into decrypt9 and restore nand, dump nand, etc, it fails. Attached is a pic of the solder points that I removed. Doesn't seem like I removed the pads when I look under a magnifying glass either. Any ideas why this is happening? I's there something I missed???

Sorry, I had issues with the pic upload. Also, it will sometimes to the black screen of death. It is very puzzling to say the least..

Didn't you burned the Circle Pad ribbon with the soldering iron???

Maybe you burned something else either.

No, the ribbon is not burned. The plastic housing was burned, but it works fine. It was done when I received it with the hard mod, not burned by me. Like I said, it will work fine except for the SD card, then it will either BSOD or black screen. All I'd did was remove the hardmod because I replaced the case (the hardmod port on the back was porly done by the original owner/modder) and didn't need the mod due to me adding a9lh and luma.

I assumed it was you who had removed the hardmod, my bad.
Maybe you could check if there's no solder splashes near the pads of the hardmod.
Also, if you have A9LH, and you have problems with the card, it will fail to boot because A9LH won't boot without SD (unless you installed SDless fork).
Try with another SD on it and see how it goes or maybe clean the SD slot with some alcohol and let it dry well.

No worries, appreciate the help. Yeah, checked near all of the pads under magnifying glass and can't seem to see any splashes. It's so odd though, a9lh will let me boot (sometimes) but I get nand errors if I try to backup or restore. It's like the SD card only works until boot, then fails. Next boot, get blue screen or black screen. No rhyme or reason with what it decides to do.

Yeah, it's weird.
Try with a new SD and with only the arm9loaderhax.bin on root.
Then run some Home apps to see it it replicates the problem. Maybe your SD card is failing.

Other then that, out of ideas, sorry
