Hacking Can someone explain how 3dsconv works?

But I still don't get it. I decrypted my roms. But how do I convert them to cia with this? I dragged them over to the 3dsconv.py and it said processing. After that it finished, but there was no cia file of the game. What am I doing wrong?

Have you got the xorpads with decrypt9 from ncchinfo.bin output by the program?

are you using 64bit Windows? you should try getting and drag and drop on top of the .exe. or else it tries to use C:\Windows\system32 I think, for some reason. if not, you should use Python in the command line/terminal.

this is an outdated method, today you don't use uncart (Decrypt9) or xorpads (dump decrypted).

But aren't xorpad files still necessary for (ahem!) "acquired from the internet" rom dumps? Not everyone dump their own carts in decrypted form.

If you're grabbing it from the internet, might as well use a CIA.

That being said 3dsconv.py does also support using xorpads.

I only download scene releases. I don't bother getting cia files, since it's pretty easy to convert myself, and at least, I know the cia will be alright.
