So now when you edit an equipment, it won't show level (probably was never level to begin with), just the equipment ID (max 65535 instead of 255)

oh wait the 4th byte might be the level.

What's new:
You can edit the equipment level again. (It was 4th byte not 3rd)

Holy shit, you work amazingly fast. So does this mean we can edit any weapon to max level?

The crown icon indicating max level is displayed, I can't upgrade it any further and it displays the same stats as a level 1 piece. I tested it with a Sword Saint Earring.

I don't know what I expected, but I'm kinda disappointed.

guys how to use this JK Save Manager? do i need to install this in my 3ds or PC? step number 1 is not clear for me. hahaha

I think the Upgraded items have a different item ID.

Get a normal item ID, then normally upgrade a item and compare id's if theirs a difference is the only thing I can think of that might give a different result.

sorry... think i am missing out a lot here... what does it mean by edit an equipment level? or rather where can i see what does the no. in the level represent?

Once you download the JK Save Manager, you drag those contents to the root of your 3DS SD card, then you boot up the Homebrew via your 3DS and the save manager should be there.

there are set levels for all weapons and armors. Weapons go as high s 10, but for some end level crafts (after upgrading the level of lower tier weapons in the tree) they dont go above 1-3. Going above these values wont correspond with higher damage/etc so there's no point. Similarly, armors tend to have a max level between 5 and 12. Higher than the cap does NOT code for a higher defense value, so again, no point. This is the same as for relic weapons/armor in MH4U. Marking a relic weapon higher than level 4 or a relic armor above its cap always hurt stats rather than making them higher than normal. The higher levels don't correspond to anything on the list tied to the armor, so no improvement is seen over level 1

Do you know how to give palicos to someone? I haven't actually done that before.

I don't mind giving you one; I'm still figuring out how to make a palico without any glitches thought, so you might get a glitch in your game and not be able to fix it, due to not having save editing capabilities. Is that fine?

Ill be getting some teeth surgery tomorrow, so I won't be able to give you a palico tomorrow

Do it when the novacaine is still on. You won't feel a thing. I've had my molar and wisdom teeth pulled. You feel like shit for the first hour, but functionality returns to normal afterwards. Also yeah, Palico's as long as you give them innate skills and nothing non-innate, you should be fine. Everything else they learn after that is purely RNG which is where the modding comes in. For example you can't give a Fighter aligned Palico True Health Horn, I reckon the game would flag it as a bad variable and then not let you give it out. As long as you're not throwing around innate skills on a regular skill bar you should be fine.

However if anyone else can do it so Alphex can rest that would be better. I don't wanna trouble you to do it while you're in pain mate. I can give out my friend code or someone can write on my profile their FC and we can go from there. Thanks to everyone who has been a help so far with the process. What I'm gonna do is sign up for Gamefly's 30 day Trial, order OOT and then go from there. 30 days is plenty of time to do it.

I'm still struggling with editing a palico. I've used all legitimate actions, but they keep un-equipping themselves when i go on a hunt. Can someone give me an exact format i should use? I've looked at the other posts about this, and have had no such luck.
