Having installed a9lh on 5 systems (New 3DS, and four 2DSes), I notice recurring problems.

I will list the systems and SD Card, along with type of a9lh.

  • New Nintendo 3DS XL - 64gig SanDisk Ultra from the official website. Using Delibile's original implentation of a9lh back in February.
  • Nintendo 2DS - PNY Elite Performance 16gb - installed using the very latest a9lh, installed yesterday. I've only gotten the Sleep Mode issue on this one.
  • Nintendo 2DS - stock SD Card (4GB) - same as above (installed yesterday; sleep mode)
  • Nintendo 2DS - stock 4 gig, installed Aurora's fork of a9lh a month ago.

1) Sometimes the system fails to wake from Sleep Mode.

2) Rarely, the system doesn't start, I'm greeted by an endless black screen.

I've heard, even from developers, that a9lh is basically a normal stock boot, but these problems still exist and haven't existed before a9lh (namely Sleep Mode). The hanging while turning the system on only happens once a month on the systems I described.
TL;DR - I have problems that I'm 90% sure are caused by a9lh, wat do

They're most definitely not...
They most definitely are. The waking up from sleep issue is unrelated, and is a problem I've had even on stock systems.

It is impossible for a9lh to fail to boot like you're describing. It getting hung on a black screen means it read the a9lh.bin file, but then failed to load it. This would only happen due to problems with your SD card.

I edited my reply. It literally isn't possible.

A) Even the official supply can be tainted.
B) Nintendo's SD cards are crap quality
C) Even if an SD card works its contacts can be bad
D) Even a real SD card's quality can deteriorate over time

If it's not a problem with your SD card itself your SD card reader may be experiencing issues.

The card works in all other instances, but I'll accept that maybe the 3DS's card readers aren't prepared to be used that early in boot.

Maybe it's not a9lh that crash but the CFw itself, are you updated to the latest version?
