If you're already using the "hax 2.7" payloads for HomeBrew and the latest release HBL CIA Payloads (which you should if you had it working on 10.7) then all you should have to do is rename it.

I think I had never updated the payload in ages. It was still on 9.2 for some reason. I went to Smealum's HBL page, generated a 10.7 payload, and renamed that. Now it works fine.

I just want to know if its safe for me to update, Im on a 2DS with 9.2 SysNand and 10.7 EmuNand using RXTools CFW

Well, thanks to @Wolfvak's quick work on the version detection, I have the signature patch, firmprot, emunand, and loader all working in Cakes again. No offsets changed, interestingly.

But yeah, this update seems like a very "stable" update. It may break...a lot? IDK.

Also OP - Cakes does not work in its current state. Cakes itself can boot, but all the patches need fixes and so it is only capable of booting vanilla without fixes. Anyone running stable 138 or the nightlies are KIA at the moment and can only boot unpatched.

Trust me, FIRM 0x52 and 0x21 break A LOT of stuff. OoT and CN were added to the pseudo-ASLR list, so they're kind of unusable right now. A lot of changes have been under the hood, like the usage of certain services by pm (process manager) but I guess smealum could explain it better.

Not gonna tag him because he might be sick of it, but anyone else feel free to do so, he'll be able to provide more detailed info.

Currently using OOTHAX right now. What do I do to keep it working? Note that this is the only hack I've got on my New 3DS. My Old 3DS has RXtools and all that other stuff, though.

Downgrade and either use menuhax+emunand or a9lh.

So I don't have any other options? Bleech. I'll try my luck with a possible update from Smealum. If it doesn't happen, well, it gives me an excuse to play Ocarina of Time!

Well, the thing is, I've got an Old 3DS which has been downgraded and can run homebrew. It... just doesn't do it very well, because Nintendo put a hamster wheel in it where a decent processor should have been. Really, thanks for that, Nintendo.

Is that what is preventing the cia version of plaisysupdate from downgrading NFIRM? Because I just tested it and while the downgrader works at first, it will always give the "an error has occurred" message when it gets to NFIRM.

(v*)hax works on 11.0 without having to do anything.
It's the HBL cia that needs a payload on the SD renamed.

Hmm, I haven't had any luck updating the V*Hax exploit on my N3DS running 11.0 then.
I hold select to bring up the SALT menu and select Update Payload, but this errors, I think not being able to connect or something.
I then try launching the payload but this just crashes the software.

You don't need to update the payload; installing the 10.7 payload (via the (v*)hax installer, not the auto-updater) is sufficient.
No 11.0 payload exists yet; that's why you're getting the error.

I had (v*)hax from when I first installed it on 10.7, and after updating t0 11.0 I did literally nothing to VVVVVV, and the hax still works exactly as it did before I updated.

I am using reinand currently on a emunand n3ds xl. Can i just update or what does hbl loader “change payload name“ mean? Best wishes!

Your "tests" are likely to be wrong - the CN / OoT modification I talked about happens in the loader module, which Luma happens to replace, and as such eliminates Nintendo's workaround.

Besides, they also stubbed svcBackdoor, so it's no longer usable. Say good bye to NTR.

Great, more stability.
Not even kidding.

Thats all their is, and this is a major firmware update.
