As the title, I've seen that thing floating around and I can't figure out what it is. Since updating is just replacing the "arm9loaderhax.bin" (am I right?), what is the pro using it? Sorry for this stupid question.

Pro to using it is not having to pull your SD card/run an FTP server to pull down latest. Probably more useful for n3ds as you have to pull the backplate off the system to get at the card.

just like people above me said..
it is a tool for update luma
the usual process is:
turn off the console, remove sd card, put on pc, go to git hub, download the zip file, extract the file to sd card, put back on 3ds..
alternativaly you can use a ftp client but in some cases or when you just don't want to use another device ftp is not very lazy friendly

i mean, for really lazy people like me, or someone who isn't on a pc at all time having the possibility to update on the console itself, it saves a little of work...
specially when luma3ds is updated a few times a week (not complaining) and some of us always get hyped to update it

however, we shouldn't have a luma update app...
wee should have an homebrew update utility so i can update not only luma but most usual homebrew and apps..

It's way easier to just get an ftp homebrew cia, download the update, and copy it with Filezilla. Ftp is fairly lazy friendly especially if you have a static ip set, much less of a hassle than taking the SD out every time.

Don't you also have to update the Luma3DS.dat file each time also?
Not on a9lh, the .dat is just for launching through browser (I think).

I could get behind this app if it allowed you to choose the name of the downloaded file. That would make it useful for those who use CtrBootManager9 or BootAnim9. Although, for that feature to maintain proper function of Luma3DS, the pathchanger would have to be incorporated into Luma Updater as well.

EDIT: Nevermind. It can. Getting it now.

It's way easier to just get an ftp homebrew cia, download the update, and copy it with Filezilla.
too lazy to open ftp brony, turn on\get on the computer, launch filezilla, uncompress the file into someplace, connect to 3ds, select the folders copy file, restart 3ds
i am exaggerating, but come on, will we really complain about something that does the job for us?

as i said, an update app that we could use with plenty of homebrew would be realy cool great
or even better, get an update nag when launching an homebrew in .cia format just like regular 3ds software

So we'll get update nag if there's an update for Luma3DS. I think it just update the arm9loaderhax.bin when I install the updater.

EDIT: just figured it out it's a tool. I think it's only update arm9loaderhax.bin when installed.

Hi guys, I haven't done anything on my new3DS for quite a while.
4/5 month ago I hacked my new3DS and it boots directly into Luma3DS after some fullscreen color-flashes.
What I want to say is, that I didn't installed the full hack firmware, which boots very fast to Luma3DS. But that is not a problem for me. I can live with this situation.

But Im sure there are several updates Ive skipped. And now I want to update to the latest Luma3DS version.
Since it is a while ago, I don't know how to do it properly. It would be great, if someone could explain it to me (noob friendly).
