Once I am happy with my work. Sure.
For some reason the battery is trolling me now though.
It was perfectly nice and purple. Now it changed back to blue even though I didn't even work on it anymore

Alright, my other issue was solved. But I must ask, how do you get these modifications to function properly? My 3ds always gives me the black error screen and I must restore my NAND backup.

I first downloaded the cia file with 3DNUS from the OP, then decrypted (apparently that's incorrect spelling) it with Decrypt9, extracted it with Part1.bat, decompressed menu_msbt_LZ with 3DS Explorer, and (using MSBT Editor Reloaded) did just a single edit (changed the text to prompt creating a folder). I finished by compressing menu_msbt_LZ again with 3DS Explorer, running Part2.bat, encrypting the newly generated CIA file, then installed it to my sysNAND. Basically, the tutorial was followed to a T. So, I don't quite understand the brick I get every time I do this.

Anyway, I'm tired (it's 1:00 AM where I am), and I'm off to bed. I'll continue with...this...tomorrow.

After building it you need to enter Decrypt9 once a gain and use the "CIA Encrypter (NCCH)" option.
Afterwards you may install it.

It's super unrealistic to edit it that way, but it's relatively easier to make a homebrew alternative launcher and create a cfw that autoboots a specific regular app!
