Hello.

My Wii-U has been collecting dust for a while now, so I'm thinking of bringing it in to my local Gamestop, etc. But before I do that I'll need to remove the softmod I have my V-Wii, but I'm not sure what's the best way of doing that. I do have a NAND backup if that would help at all.

Any help would be great.
Thanks :)

AFAIK, with the regular Wii you can either restore an old NAND backup (which will remove most of the offending material), or you can use WAD managers to uninstall some of the forwarders and delete installed titles through the Wii's or other data management homebrew. Basically the point would be to make it look and appear clean. I would assume you can use a similar process for the vWii. BTW, don't quote me on any of this, I haven't messed with Wii in a long while, but I don't think I'm that far off the mark.

Thanks, but I'd rather have a up to date guide (if possible) I don't want to risk bricking anything.

Can a mod or someone please rename the title to "How do I remove a V-Wii softmod?"
It looks like Gamestop wont take my Wii because it does not have the piece that covers the Gamecube controller and memory card slots.

I'll also edit my post to remove the normal Wii parts

Quick question can you get on your wii u and quickly disable your wifi and then see what firmware you have? If it's been collecting dust then maybe it's an old firmware and worth more than gamestop will offer you.

Edit: ignore subsequent posts. Stupid phone

That's an exploitable firmware, screw gamestop you can sell the Wii u(not even the gamepad!) alone for some good money. Your best bet is selling it online.
Thanks for the suggestion to sell it online, but the best thing for me is just to trade it in at Gamestop. Only thing stopping me is my V-Wii being hacked. lol

After looking around more, I still can't find anything on how to remove a softmod from V-Wii.
Only visible signs of it being hacked are the Homebrew Channel, and Riivolution being on the home menu. What would be the safest way of removing them, so it's at least not visibly hacked?
Unless there is a way to remove a V-Wii's softmod and I have yet to find it. lol

Just go into your vwii settings menu and you can delete the channels there. Boom. Hack gone. (or at least not visible or launchable)

What you need to do is sell it on eBay as a "pre-hacked" Wii U. You'll get much more money that way!
Agreed, with the clamor all around with people trying to find an exploitable wii u. You could fetch a much higher profit online than anything gamestop would give you. And you wouldn't need to bother hiding anything you've done, it's a selling point

You cant advertise that. Its against eBay's TOS and it will get removed, or you send the item and the other person forces a refund and you get fucked.

I already said that bringing it to Gamestop is the best thing for me

Why would you not just run the hackmii installer and click, uninstall
Because I did not know that was a option. Too late now though
