Really glad to know this method is confirmed for O3DS people, I've been confused a lot by how to do this without issue.

But those steps mean you have to use savedatafiler? Anyway to just...not use that at all? I found this topic while searching for a way to keep all data working on the emunand (created before formatting sysnand) but with no issue logging into NNID.
You really cant, But you can use Save Data Filer yo backup all your saves then follow my tutorial and just reinstall and reimport all your saves. This happens because the "code" for when your logged in with a linked NNID is still in your EmuNAND. The only way would be to follow my Tutorial. When this error happens you "Want" to lose data so that you can relink an NNID and properly login.

You can solve the problem very easily with Decrypt9, if your SysNAND isn't linked to an NNID.

Just dump the nnidsave.bin from the SysNAND and inject it into the EmuNAND
This helps, however, this wont be a good solution to anyone purchasing anything, since you still enter it without an NNID linked so your purchases are kinda loosely connected to your console more than anything.

Once you do that you can just log into your NNID from the emuNAND and use the eshop again.

I have no idea why this didn't just click in my head. I feel about as smart as a rock right now.

Thanks for the pretty obvious information

My sysNAND is not linked. I looked under Decrypt9 and I dont see any nnidsave.bin file.

Never mind I got it working. Thanks!

I found another easy fix to this error.
Step 1) turn off 3ds
1a) take out the your sd/microsd that's giving you this error from your 3ds and put it to the side
2) put a fresh new microsd/sd into your 3ds
3)format emunand
4)enter emunand mode via gateway/cfw and then do a system update
5)link your nnid that you use from step 1's microsd/sd
6)turn off 3ds, take out your microsd and swap it with your old one from step 1
7)???????
8)profit

cooroxd, can you please explain this fix better?
1)My emunand it is running from my SD, if I take it out the whole thing freezes... So how i am going to format emunand on step 3?

By doing this, will I lose my cia games installed and save files?

I'm currently running a 10.5 emunand via RxToolls.

Thanks for your help!

Well what you want to do is replaced the the sd card with a new one and make a new emunand and cfw on that. The old one you took out is set to the side for later.

Just do what I wrote:

This worked almost effortlessly. Download the latest version of Decrypt9, go to Sysnand Options, dump files, dump nnidsave.bin, go to Emunand options, Inject Files, Inject nnidsave.bin, pick the right nnidsave.bin (or rather most likely the only one), and when you start up go to settings and up at the top of the screen hit Nintendo Network ID Settings and fill in your info, just make sure your Emunand is on 10.6.

piratesephiroth, I don't see that file in Decrypt9. I'm new at this I went to my Homebrew channel and ran decrypt9WIP. Is there a better or newer verison? I even looked in rxtool decryption options and did not see file nnidsave.bin.
please help

Maybe you're using an old version? Get the latest here

It's in Emunand/Sysnand Options -> File Dump/Inject

So my situation is -
Had my emunand on an old sd
Linked my NNID
Deleted old emunand permanently for new SD
Made new Emunand
Linked ID
Error code
I can't get to the old emunand to format it and unlink the ID
Am I sol?

The only option you have is to call Nintendo and say you lost your console or something... so they unlink your NNID

Sorry tp bump the thread, but I'm getting this error

My settings is New3DSXL SysNand 10.7 with A9LH + AuReiNand

What to do? Except Call Nintendo US, of course...
