I just realized, going from System Settings (Emunand) to MicroSD Management (Emunand) and then exiting out of the MicroSD Management (Emunand) no longer brings you to System Settings (Sysnand). Great news! :D

Will the patch to enable screen init require recompiling the installer? Or will it just be a new .bin payload?

it could be either or, depending on how it goes, but the cleanest way would be updating the payload in NAND (you'd only need to update one payload though) but the code we currently have is integrated into CakesFW

Finally got around to actually using my OTP dump and am now direct booting my emunand via A9LH and AuReiNand.

So long, Menuhax. You served your country well.

Are you a bad enough dude to serve your country and join the A9LH master race?

(Sorry, your avatar reminded me of the Bad Dudes guy.)

Back on topic, my boot time is about 8 seconds regardless of sysNAND or emuNAND. N3DS, 64GB Samsung UHS-1 Class 10.

My 9.2 emunand boots up faster then my 10.5 sysnand via A9L. Perhaps SD card is actually faster then NAND? But then again 10.5 may just boot up a bit slower then 9.2... :P

I would hope you can get it to work as part of the payload on SD card. I'd rather not play around with the stage1/stage2 payloads stored on NAND. That's a quick way of bricking the console if they get screwed up. :P
