Hacking Frankenfirmware is alive :(

I wanted to downgrade a brand new N3DS with 9.9.0-26E on it.
I used Smashhax to enter HBL and started immediately sysupdater. It's started and managed to downgrade a couple (or even more) titles.
BUT THEN:" A ERROR HAS OCCURED..."

So I was forced to shutdown the 3ds. I expected already worst case scenario....

But fortunately, the device booted normally

opened MSET, reading 9.2.0-20E, but the downgrade stoppped to early to be finished.
Opened Browser - still blocked. I think it's still the one from FW 9.9.
So I think, I got a frankenfirmware.

My thought is to try downgrade again and it should downgrade all remaining titles.

But smashhax crashes back to homemenu and reboots. I used smash payload the one for 9.9.0-26E and for 9.2.0-20E, but still same results...

So now what? First time for me a downgrade failed.

Edit: Oops, seems like your entrypoint doesnt work, sry...
I had the same problem but i was able to boot oothax and upgraded to 10.3 and downgrade to 9.2 from there.
Maybe you should upgrade to 10.5 with recovery and do a hardmod to downgrade to 10.3 and downgrade to 9.2 from that. And dont forget to make a nand backup if you are going to do a hardmod.

That's what I'm trying, but no hax will start.

EDIT: I tried using payload 9.2.0-26E, worked. I'm in hbl now. I think I will install first menuhax and then reoplace the menuhax payload. Hopefully downgrade will succeed...

Good luck! You should maybe format your system before you attempt to downgrade, I heard that fixes the error messages.

Use Menuhax, I experienced exactly the same scenario and menuhaxed saved me.

only for the record, can someone give me a link to the most recommended version of sysupdater with memchunkhax2? I think I used the wrong sysupdater in the first place

I had this same problem on my n3ds, mine was also on 9.9 when I attempted it. The buttons at the bottom of the screen to open apps and what not were missing and MSET also showed 9.2. The way I fixed it was I used sysupdater to update to 10.3 with the firmware files provided from that certain site and then used safe sysupdater to start the downgrade process again and it worked. Also, I recommend doing it from menuhax just as you are already doing.

Seconded. If you don't have a hardmod and want to guiarentee it works, format.
Mine had a softbrick but I could go back to 10.3 with reciovery (was a while ago). Formatted and it worked.

safesysupdater never worked for me on other downgrade attempts and so this one, too. Only ends up blackscreen with some pink pixel in the under left corner. I always used this one

I was right - the sysupdater from my link worked after 7th attempt - safesysupdater never worked.

So sysupdater downgraded now succesfully down to 9.2.0-20E. Rxtools and rxtools works now. The list of all downgraded titles in the last downgrade attempt was very short, only 10 titles with native firm.bye bye Herr Frankenstein's monster fw. EmuNAND, I'm coming!

For the record, 'safesysupdater' uses an older version as a base (I think it was TuxSH's version that was made in the beginning of the downgrade hype). Good to see everything is working now.

The very same thing happened to me on a 2ds, I've figured the payload fix right away to get HBL back as I've already read it somewhere a while back, however sysupdater started freezing somewhat differently and often the text isn't printed out correctly.
Since you managed to redo it which sysupdater did you end up using? You mention a link but it's menuhax instead xD
