Hey Guys,

right now I'm looking at the files of "Detective Pikachu (JPN)" and it seems that the game uses .msbt-files for Text.

I've tested MSBTEditor 0.2 (by Exelix11) but the output isn't working that good :s
Probably the File format is slightly different.
Normally the text should be shown in UNICODE-8 Format to edit this stuff correctly.

Unfortunately MSBTEditor 0.2 isn't able to open episode1.msbt - episode5.msbt, too...

Could someone help me with this format to edit it correctly?

Good luck with the project ^^
I plan on translating this game to portuguese, but I have little-to-no japanese knowledge. May I base my translation on yours once you're done?

Woa ! this is nice ! translation would be neat seeing as we dont know if a english version will ever be released .. though this is a big game it be odd for nintendo to pass on a english port but who knows, keep up the great work !!

Yes, you can. The problem is one: you can not edit .moflex files (I think .moflex is the video format for this game), so you can not edit the cutscenes. It seems to me that the cutscenes are dubbed (in Japanese, of course).

If you could convert .moflex files, it would be enough to convert them into a format compatible with Aegisub (or any other software for creating subtitles), make an hardsub and reconvert to .moflex. However, currently we aren't able to encode, but only view them.

people can live without dubbing.

Can you upload the files?
Maybe I can write an editor but i'm not sure, I need to see the files, and I don't have the game (I have the CIA but I can't install it... this non-legit CIA...).

BTW, if someone know if there is a way to play non-legit CIA with the homebrew launcher (I heard that it's actually impossible), I really want to play Detective Pikachu, and I can't -_-
I hope there will be a french release...

And on Jeuxvideo.com, the forum is not very active, so I don't have the latest news...

I know it because I'm on it, but useless to write jvc here, since it's a french website
