Not all of the CTR-N ones. There are only about 8 that have to be deleted. The top screen you should see a string of number that look something like 020000200 or 000400e7 (not these exactly, these are made up for demonstration purposes). That string of numbers is the title ID. Every region is different so I can't tell you what they are. You have to look them up.

That's actually why I have been on these forums all day. As far as I can tell there is no way unless you have a SecureInfo_A from a system that was never connected to the internet.

There are some steps in this guide you can try. It did not work for me but it might for you. There is a section specifically for eshop.

I read that one. From what I understand, wouldn't that require you to do that every time you switch your emuNAND?
It would be cool if I can easily switch between SD cards, and having the eShop work fine on both automatically.

It would be cool but I think we are without eshop for now. Luckily updates and DLC can be found easily on the other site. I think it's worth it having a pearl white LL N3DS with both Japanese and US system menus. Not a lot of people can say they have one.

If one were to obtain a SecureInfo_A file from a 3DS that never connected to the internet, how many times can that file be used?
If it's infinite, I'm surprised I haven't come across one on that iso site or something.
Or is that type of file a one time use thing?

It's a serialized one of a kind thing. You would have to buy a system for the sole purpose of taking this file off and never trying to use it online again.

I have been reading a little more of that thread I linked to before. If your system has or has ever had any titles installed that are not available in your new region eshop will not work. My Japanese system came with swapnote installed which is not available in the US so everytime I try to connect I get an out of region error. AFAIK there is no fix for this.

Well, by that point you're better off buying the out of region system to use it, instead of buying one just for a file. Which sounds like once that new system gets connected online, the eShop on your emuNAND with a different region will break again. (So you wouldn't be able to sell the system, which kills the point of doing all this.)

And in the end, you can just use CFW to run out of region titles.

For me all of this started because I was given the Japanese console as a gift after I mentioned that I liked the white ones (I live in Japan). Region swapping was so I could read the system menu. The only thing I used eshop for was downloading game updates but I can live without that and just get them from the other site. It's not too much of a hassle.

Ah, I would have suggested getting a 2DS, so you can get the SecureInfo_A file off, but if you don't mind it, then whatever.

I guess this is practical if you've imported a Japanese 3DS and don't understand Japanese. But if you own an American or European 3DS, doing something like this is less practical.

Why did you do it?

I was bored, and so I can show off to my friends. I knew from the start that there would be no real purpose of doing this, as I wouldn't gain anything from it. I don't even know Japanese, yet I changed my emuNAND to a Japanese firmware (albeit on another SD card :P I'm not gonna do this on my main emuNAND).

I threw together a video tutorial on Bu2d85's emuNAND region changing method.

Enjoy! (Wait for it to process; it's 7GB)

Great tutorial! This will definitely help a lot of people.
Although.. not sure if you can legally share the update CIAs and the SecureInfo_A file.

Edit: (In response to the issue you have in RxTools in your video.) Why don't you try launching RxTools from the Homebrew Launcher? The UI looks better and (at least on my o3DS) doesn't seem to do the installation thing every time I launch it.

HAHAHAHA!!! So many broken emunands coming!

It's not your fault, I should have explained the system titles a little better. Did you notice on your emunand that you had some duplicate icons?

Some of the titles installed on the system menu have different unique id's based on region. When you go to 3dbrew.org compare the unique id's from the region you are on and the region you are going to. If the unique id is different uninstall that title. If the unique id is the same do not uninstall it. This will prevent the duplicate icons on your home screen. Guessing what things to delete is a good way to break your emunand.

As for your rxtools, one of the firm files that you are using is probably incorrect. Are you using firmware.bin or the 3 individual numbered .bin files? If you are using a recent build of rxtools there is a python script to download the correct files.

EDIT: Also eshop will not work.

You can use the tool compareTitlesCSV linked in the OP to get the list of titles that you can delete.

I did what Bu2d85 said, but i'm having a problem.
Every time that i close an applet, the system freezes in the Home menu splash screen. This only happens in this scenario, when i press Home in a game, it works well. Anyone have any ideas?
Initially, i went from 10.4U to 10.3J.
Then i tried downgrade to 9.2U first and then switch to 9.2J. But also didn't work.

New 3DS or Old 3DS?

Hmm, I did come across an issue when using Bu2d85's guide on an o3DS, but it worked fine on my n3DS.
I'd say to start on 9.2U, then get all the o3DS update files (4.2-10.3), mix the files together, delete the files stated by Bu2d85.
Then just try using sysUpdater, don't forget to delete the system apps prior to doing that though.
