Hi,

I freshly downgraded my n3ds from 10.3 to 9.2 and managed to get unlinked emunand, coldboot and i have FBI in h&s.

-I bought a "Verbatim Micro SDHC SD Memory Card UHS-I Class 10 - 32GB" but whenever i put her in the 3ds, i got something like "can't access the sd card" (i tried to format with sdformatrer4 and with magic wizard partition nothong works) is the card uncompatible with the console ? Which sd card do you guys use?

-So i did everything in the 4gb card that came with the 3ds will i be able to switch everything to a bigger one when i'll get a working one or will i have to do everything again?

-For the .cia games that i'll have, do i need to do something with my header for avoid a ban or not?

-My emuNAND is on 9.2, what's the point on updating it to 9.5?

Sorry for the english and thanks to the community you're all awesome and always helping peoples !

1) Personally I use a 64gb evo Samsung micro sd in an sd adapter for my 3ds. Where did you purchase your sd, it is possible that it could be a fake, or you are making a mistake.
2) You can transfer everything that you have done on your 4gb sd card to a larger one. Copying the files will not do everything, you also have to use emunand tool to extract the emunand from your sd card. Optionally, if you have Windows as your OS, you can use win32diskimager to make an exact copy of your 4gb sd and transfer it to your new sd.
3) CIA files do not use headers like 3ds/3dz files do, so you do not have to worry about that for bans. There is still a chance of a ban if Nintendo views your NNID and sees that you did not purchase games, but nothing that you can truly prevent.
4) Updating to 9.5 will allow you to play games that may require an update; however, some cia files have firmware spoofing that allows them to be played on lower firmwares.

I hope that these answers were helpful, and feel free to reply if you have any other questions!

umm nintendo cant tell if the game you are playing is from the eshop or retail so then they would end up baning people with retail game cards
other than that you are correct on all points

I had a verbatim card once (I think it came with a camera) that I could never get to work for anything either. I think they are just crap cards.

I mainly stick with SanDisk cards as I have never been burned by them, they cost a little more but they are worth it.

I did get burned by a marketplace seller on Amazon once selling SanDisk cards pretty cheap and when they came in they were a generic brand class 10 called wintec filename or something like that. I'll admit I have been impressed by them, it's been well over a year and they are still kicking and have decent read/write speed.

I wouldn't suggest buying a cheap one, on purpose though because generally get what you for

I'm in a similar situation, can someone please help?

My N3DSXL was downgraded from 10.3 to 9.2, then HomeMenuHax and PastaCFW installed. EmuNAND hasn't been set up yet. Currently it's on a PNY 16GB micro SD card, when I copy everything across to a SanDisk 32GB micro SD, the 3DS can't read it and says "cannot read software on micro SD card" when starting up. Reinserting the 16GB card allows the 3DS to run normally again.

Do I have to use some special software to clone the original SD to the new one?

(I've verified that the 32GB SanDisk is genuine and not a counterfeit card, both cards are formatted to FAT32, I don't have access to win32diskimager as I'm using a Mac, is there a similar alternative?)

you arent by chance attempting a direct sd to sd copy are you? you need to copy the first sd to the pc then from the pc to the second sd

I'm not doing a direct SD-to-SD transfer. I made a backup to my computer first, and then tried to copy the backup from the computer to the new SD card.
. . . i dont know . . . then try this format the new non working sd (fat32) and put it in the 3ds and let it create the files on its own then . . . if all went well merge the backed up sd card files onto the new sd card

I tried reformatting and inserting the blank card into the 3DS, it still comes up with the same "cannot read software" error. Looks like the Mac's Disk Utility formatting method might be at fault here. Just downloaded the official SD formatting utility 4.0, will give that a shot.

EDIT: Formatting the SD using the official SD formatting utility seemed to allow the 3DS to recognise the card. Will now try copying everything back and see if that works.

EDIT2: Success! Looks like it was OS X's fault after all. *gives Mac disapproving look*

1) I bought it on 7dayshop.com. You guys have some idea of the "better" models of sd? (Extreme etc)

The rest of your post can't be more clear ! Thanks to all your answers guys

If I want to reinstall everything from 9.2 to rxtools with a new SD card, do I just insert the new SD card?

How to move Games, Saves, Themes, and Emunand to a new SD card

  1. Get Emunand Tool
  2. Insert your old SD card in your PC
  3. Open Emunand Tool and select "Extract EmuNAND"
  4. Save it somewhere on your PC (as "emunand.bin" if you want)
  5. Backup all your SD card files to your PC
  6. Eject your old SD card
  7. Put Gateway's launcher.dat on your new SD card
  8. Format emunand on your new SD card via the gateway menu
  9. Turn off your 3DS
  10. Insert your new SD card in your PC
  11. Open Emunand Tool and select "Inject NAND to emuNAND"
  12. Select the emunand.bin you made in step 3 & 4
  13. Close Emunand Tool when done
  14. Put backup of SD card files (from step 5) on your new SD card
  15. Done, emunand and files (saves, games, etc.) have been transferred to your new SD card!

a new sd card may help and dont skip 5&14 that is where your games/saves/other stuff actually is
but what is the issue be more descriptive you black screen when you try to do what? and what is the last thing you see before the black screen?

don't buy one online unless you can ship it to a local reputable store most sd cards you get online on any site will likely be a cheap fake Chinese knock off otherwise
. . . just go to the store and get one
also the bigger the better

Black screen when I launch RxTools, especially with CTRBootManager (The last thing I see before the black screen is the multiple colors(menuhax) when you turn on the 3ds while holding L).

Do I just insert the new SD card and then start from here? By inserting a new SD card, will my 3ds act as if I didn't do any installation before?

before black screen do you see a blue screen like this
images
or something similar if so then menuhax is stopping you not your sd card
when you see the blue rxtools splash screen hold the button to skip menuhax until emunand loads then change themes to disable menuhax

When all else fails you'll want to perform a LLF using this tool http://hddguru.com/software/HDD-LLF-Low-Level-Format-Tool/ keep in mind this will wipe the card entirely and you'll be required to format the card after.

I have a feeling your card has some hidden partition that for whatever reason windows isn't detecting (or something to that nature). Regardless if it works or not, at least you'll have a squeaky clean SD card.

*EDIT* Or the cards crap, you can't fix crap.

No I dont see this with CTRBootManager. Without CTRBootManager, through homebrew, I see this blue screen for 1-2secs Only if I successfully launches rxtools (Sometimes it launches successfully, sometimes its a black screen. I'd say 70% chance that it's a black screen)

I just been playing offline, and they give you a few bots here n there on your team to help battle. I don't think it's as funny as the other games tho, more battle oriented than humor, which kinda sucks, but I'm still early in it

@BigOnYa, doesnt the game have a campaign mode?
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Yea, and co-op, but you can also start a pvp session and battle just with friends. You get special skill cards (powers) the more you play. And higher value cards, but you can only enable so many cards at a time.
