This is correct. mvmiranda started the thread and created the tool. I did not work on mvmiranda's Save editor and I do not have any access to the source. However mvmiranda seems to have dropped this project and it is "outdated" and buggy (Not trying to talk down his work - it's awesome). There are a lot more things you can do with save editing that the Save Editor doesn't include. So I would like to create a new Fantasy Life Save Editor including the current features (including fixing the rank stuff). And adding Item Editing, Skill Editing, possibly Quest Editing, "Character Design" editing etc.
I'd however like to find the DLC Unlocking/Locking Part first and may eventually include that.
I guess the answer's no, but did you make any progress on your editor?

What exactly are you referring to?

I didn't start coding a proper editor I set up structs for stuff though. And worked on a way to automaticly recognize Item Type etc.
I still didn't figure out the DLC Checksum stuff. (Not that I really tried to tbh.)

If anyone has experience with this kind of stuff and working on Save Editors and you are interested in helping. Feel free to message me.

What exact help is needed to progress this project?
Other helpful things would be the DLC extdata and different language RAM Dumps (of FL running ofc. [DLC/NoDLC doesn't matter])
The Language Ramp Dumps are just so I can dump the Item/Effect/Map lists from there instead of translating everything. (Multilanguage support everyone :D)

Ooh, sorry. I thought you started working on it already. The item editing probably got me too excited, haha.

I can show you how to do the Item Editing. It's really not a big deal tbh.
I just didn't make a proper Editor for that yet. the structs work fine though.

That would be pretty cool, as long as I don't have to be able to do the whole Spider thing (I'm on 10.3, just with *hax)

Can someone please tell me where I'm supposed to put the 'exdata dump by mr cheeze' and then where i'm supposed to put 'flsavetool', because neither of the download folders have detailed instructions. Thank you.

What are these things, exdata dump and flsavetool?
well on the first page of this thread it says I can use the flsavetool, or fantasylife save tool, to dump my saves from my sd card to a readable file that I can edit. It doesn't say where I should put it, whether in the root sd card folder or the root homebrew folder, it does however have a txt file that says that it will focus the exdata dump tool by mr cheeze so it will target fantasy life extdata which is of course where my save files are. But the md on the download page for extdata dump tool doesn't say where to put the files we have to download, again the sd root folder or the homebrew root folder, or even if we have to use all the files.

I figure a lot of people think that everyone on the site more or less knows where everything is supposed to go and the terminology, even the newbie tutorials, but I stumbled across homebrew while searching for a way to edit the fantasylife saves and have zero experience with hacking 3ds' in fact I didn't know you could do that until like October and all of the technical vocabulary makes my head hurt.

If I remember correcly, you need 3 files to download somewhere on the internet : Bigbluemenu.3ds, BigBlueMenu.CIA and savedatafiler.CIA. Savedatafilter is the one to export and import your saves from every game. Here is a link to follow

See i could do that but that requires a separate cartridge to launch bigbluemenu and another micro sd card along with the sd card already in m 3ds. This process is even more complicated than the one i'm trying to get to work, but thanks anyway

what do you mean? could you please explain it a little more?

Do you have access to Homebrew Launcher?
You should install it first...everything you need is here.
After that, put the FLSave Tool in 3ds folder and use it to dump your save...

ok, but how do I get the save off of an UNmodded N3DS? not possible, I guess.
Well, if you put it that way then yeah, you can't do anything...
Installing a Homebrew Launcher is hardly modding the 3ds....please CMIIW...
