So when using a loader with wiiu do you need a powered external USB drive because right now I am using a 256Gig micro SD in an adapter, it works great and I like how small it is.

Yeah, the WiiU USB port has less power than the Wii for some reason, so some externals that worked before now require a Y cable for extra power (or you can use a full size with a wall plug). An internal SD card should work just as well, though!

...side-question: Format HDD to FAT32 or NTFS? I want to prepare a little already ;P
FAT32 is a safer bet. The necessary drivers already are there, which is how we can read FAT32 SD cards right now. Once we have access to USB, it's a small change to add support for FAT32 USB drives. Adding NTFS drivers is more work, for certain.

Thankyou SonyUSA and Hykem for the work so far. I've just noticed the front page has updated so Im guessing the exploit is imminent. My question is to SonyUSA in regards to the sd card. Im using a 1tb hdd for my vwii , do I need a huge sd card? is the exploit itself large in size or did you just say that incase people don't have large external hdd's? I ask because Im using a 4gb card for my vwii and hoping its enough to hold necessary data. Thanks again.

The exploit itself is going to be a few kb at most, not mb or gb.

I wonder then why it says in the OP:
What do I need?
- A large SD Card

Wat a Large SD card is, is ofcourse debateable, but i would think that it means larger than what we had to use for the Wii.

this exploit is massively appealing to me as a collector, Im going for every disc based wii u game (have 43 so far), this exploit gives me the option to keep my games tip top condition, looking forward to it bigtime :)

Hmm, a large sd card is fine I guess, i'd prefer a HDD over a big microSD card

Are there any downsides as far as price are concerned?
Also does anyone have a compatibility list for the HDDs that can work?

I just need to know if this will still be web based or just a one time install that we can just launch off of later?

Dammit....more Race Attack crap?

Ah man......

But that's just the exploit, not what can be done with the exploit... We will be able to install
It runs the gamut. I have games that go from 50MB for Nano Assault Neo to around 19GB for games like Mass Effect, Xenoblade, and Watch Dogs.

For best performance, get 2 64GB cards, one that's formatted with 32kb Clusters and the other formatted with 64kb clusters. Certain games NEED the 64kb clusters for best compatibility, but other games give an error when you use 64kb clusters(like NES Remix Pack).

I haven't received any errors with NES remix, while using the 64kb cluster.. But I'm using an 128GB sd card.. it was only 34.99$

I'm using the Sandisk Ultra 64GB SD card and I got a disc error while using it formatted with 64kb clusters, but works fine when I use it on a 32kb cluster.
