Hacking Loadiine self-hosted on ezShare Wifi micro-SD card adapter

I can confirm the ezShare wifi micro-sd adapter works fine.

It serves up any type of file ok using "http://ezshare.card/path/to/file".
Don't forget the "index.html", any urls which end with "/" will redirect to their crappy image-files-only interface.

The HTTP headers include "Content-Disposition: attachment;", which the Wii-U browser ignores.
When testing with Firefox I used the "InlineDisposition" addon otherwise FF would popup a save dialog.

Loadiine hacks + backups all on one self-contained expandable card, no DNS update blocks required.

With the SD powered up, you have a self-contained hotspot + web server which is not connected to the internet. This gives you access to loadiine, but no updates, no online play, no eshop, no netflix, etc.

If you have other connections configured, you will need other DNS blocks in place.

No, this is a micro-SD card adapter which also acts as a wifi hotspot + web server.

That sounds great, can you say what version you are using and maybe point a link to Amazon where it can be bought? I checked Amazon but they have a few different generations of the card and I wouldn't want to buy the wrong type.

* Simply block the Wii U's MAC address in your router so that it can't go online.
* (alternative) Use CCProxy to block internet access

if you use tubehax dns method you can play online and it blocks updates still.

What a terribly crap idea so what your saying is the card acts as the wifi blocker for the update plugged in the wiiu's sd slot?, so what happens when you take the wifi adapter out of the sd slot surely it leaves your wiiu vunerabe to updates? cause its not plugged in anymore and therefore not doing a lot of anything for it!. The wiiu still has to be connected to the internet in settings to work.

No, er, well kinda. This lets you boot loadiine if you don't want to buy internet or run another computer/web server. It turns your SD card into a wifi web server basically, and it would be separated from the internet too by design.

Considering the storage size to price it seems like quite an expensive route to use as both. I'd rather setup and power and use only as a hotspot/webserver than deal with $5/GB. I see no reason it couldn't

Does the WiiU auto-default to other Wifis you have entered thats in range? Wel,l I guess you could remove those from your wiiu if so. If it got no wifi to connect to how will it update?

edit- you do get that you don't need an internet connection to use the web browser and get into loadiine, right? This device once configured is basically a web address you can go to and boot loadiine from, no internet, router, or anything other than wiiu and that SD.

yeah it does the wiiu has to be connected to a wifi point or an ethernet cable else the web browser will not work. Soon as you pull the card out the front sd slot its vulnerable to the update rolling through.

No its not possible. All the sd adapter does is work as an extra wifi point but it still uses the settings on the wiiu to access the internet so you would have to set the card up within the wiiu internet settings but like I say soon as its pulled bingo! happy days for Nintendo!

Its not possible, it could not run on its own without using the wiiu internet setup first. The wiiu would not work as if its not connected at all.

The wii (or anything really) sees this SD card as a wifi point, and connects to it. From there it can access whatever you got copied to the card through the web browser. Am I missing something here? Seagate sells these now as wireless drives but I don't know if anyone has tested those and they are quite pricy but not as bad as this. I'd go that route myself, but it'd be more like $200 instead of $40.

It would work like this> You would connect to your usual internet wifi point in your wiiu settings, then within the settings you would change something to activate it so it would recognize the sd adapter in the sd slot as the "not really there" wifi point but soon as the card is pulled out the slot it will automatically revert back to your usual wifi as if its not there and it will go ahead and update. It would probably do as a good web server for putting the html files on and using it that way but for stopping the updates from rolling through now that could be really dodgy business!

Um, so I put this in my digital camera and use the wifi feature to get photos off it to my computer. You're still with me right? Can you explain how I do all that on my computer to get access to it using the camera?

And yes, you would need to make this your ONLY wifi access point in the wii U settings, you're getting there!
