Hey guys, so basically I followed the tutorials on here, have everything set up on the vWii and installed the USB Loaders recommended. I'm now having issues when trying to play any games:

WiiFlow doesn't even initialise my hdd, won't recognise it's plugged in at all.

Config USB loader occasionally loaded the hdd, but on loading the games, it crashes and has an error appear (that I cannot grab a picture of because I can't get it to even load the hdd anymore!)

USB Loader GX recognises the hdd, shows all the games on the screen but when I click to load them, it boots me to the HBC and appears to un-mount the SD card (no apps showing at all from HBC) I have to turn off and on again to get HBC to recognise the apps and then the whole cycle starts again.

Using the USB Loader GX forwarder just boots me to a black screen, as does the WiiFlow forwarder...

I can't recall how to grab an iOS check on the vWii so if someone can advise, I'll grab a breakdown, but I have all the ciOS installed as recommended in the guide and haven't installed anything other than what is recommended..

My HDD is a single cable WD Passport 500gb with a dual partition (NTFS/Fat32) games are wbfs format, still set up from my wii Softmod. I can't quite figure out what the problem is and it's infuriating!

TIA

Thanks, I've just ordered a Y cable and really hope it's the right one (I have a wierd connection on the hdd, with a B on it, so am assuming it's a micro type B, looks like it from the pictures!)

In the meantime, is there literally nothing else I can try? Just in case it's not the cable? The hdd spins consistently when plugged into the wiiU :)

Saddly no :c
The hdd spin, yes, but it doesn't spin fast enough to transfer big chunks of data, that's why you can see the banners on USB loader GX but it crash when you select a game.
In the meantime you can setup other homebrew stuff on your SD :)

Perfect, thank you :3
Why could it be dropping the HBC apps on reload though, I'm assuming it may be my SD card throwing an error or failing to load correctly? (2gb toshiba from an old DS) I've ordered a new SD card as well :) just in case

Well it depends on the app, it would the SD card too, although pretty much whatever SD card works fine under vWii.
What app are you getting problems?

All of them - if the HDD loaders quit back to the HBC, none of the apps appear and I end up on a blank HBC background and the only way to make them show again is to restart the console entirely. It's an older SD card, got it when the original 3ds came out so perhaps it's just because it's an older card and on it's way out? I can't think of any other reason it would stop loading

Why do you mention the HDD?
Are your apps stored in the SD card (sd:/app/app_name/boot.dol), or are you trying booting from HDD

Yes, all of the apps are in the app folder on the SD card, setup is correct.
I mention the HDD because that's what seems to be triggering the SD card issues. If I quit out of MMM or any other app then they all load fine. If I get booted from the HDD loaders after getting the HDD errors, the HBC is empty, no apps are listed but the vWii menu shows that the SD card is still inserted. Even then, if I quit back to home menu and go back into the HBC, there are still no apps visible! I have to completely turn the wii U off, take out and put back in the SD card and only then will the HBC show my apps again!

There's an option on HBC to show apps on a specific device, I think it's pressing 1 in the Wiimote, either way I HDD is getting stuff stuck, just delete the apps folder from it, and only keep the apps folder in the SD.

There's not an apps folder on the HDD, that's why I'm confused! I don't know why being booted from the HDD loaders would force HBC to try loading apps from a file path that doesn't exist, I told HBC to load apps from SD which is what it's doing and I don't plug the HDD in until after HBC anyway to avoid the stupid format errors.

In my HDD there's only the following:
>config
>Games
>saves
>wbfs

Set up exactly as I used it on my wii (before it went blip)

Got my Y cable today and USB loader GX works perfectly! Thank you so much :D

Configurable USB loader doesn't work and I've not tried WiiFlow yet, but USBLoader is working just perfectly!
