Are your sysNand and emuNand Linked? If so that's the issue. You need to format sysNand to remove the link and reinstall ThemeHax. Just remove the SD card and boot up the 3DS and do the System Format.

Almost forgot, you have to remove MenuHax first by deleting the Themes Folder on the SD card. Otherwise when you load emuNand it will load MenuHax. Changing the Theme while in sysNand before formatting should remove it also. If you use the 2nd method, you have to re-create emuNand.
What menuhax are you using? I use menuhax, but it doesn't do anything unless I hold L when I power on the console...

I already unlinked the nands and am using the latest Menuhax release on 9.2.20U. It's still bootlooping to menuhax (didn't set autoboot on both rxTools and Menuhax)? I can boot to emunand using the browser just fine though...

been out of the loop for a while, does rxTools boot emuNAND of the latest firmware, and can it still run CIA's n hacks on said emuNAND (loading rxtools from a 4.x sysNAND using MSET)?

EDIT: yup works :D

Enter sysNAND and go to System Settings, once you are there, be sure that you are in SysNAND by checking your FW version without RX-E or any other variants.
Once you are certain that you are in System Settings for sysNAND go to Format System, this SHOULD unlink your sysNAND from your emuNAND without problems.

(Backup your files before doing so)

Yup, I know how to unlink the nands since I did an MSET on another unit with Dean's help. Did that already before installing the hack. So I reformat sysnand again and start fresh (delete rxTools/HBL files and folders from SD and reinstall)? And after the initial setup, I choose the default theme before installing rx/HBL?

What method do you have for booting Hax?
Ninjhax, IronHax, TubeHax, etc?

If you have Ninjhax or any other, then you are good to continue.
I don't thing a clean install would be necessary, since Menuhax is working, same as rxTools, it's only the autoboot that loops because of the apparently linked NANDs.

Let's do another thing before you continue.
Enter your emuNAND and switch the theme ONLY in your emuNAND, perhaps that could help.

It's an O3DS so I accessed HBL via Sliderhax. Checking the manual I'd have to say Themehax. I have the black theme active on my emunand if that helps.

Edit: Trying to avoid doing MSET since the downgrade doesn't seem to be reversible. Correct me on that if I'm wrong?

And you have the default theme for sysNAND?

As for the MSET question, I'm not really sure.
You are on a O3DS, so you are downgrading the ENTIRE FW right and not just System Settings?
It i's a complete downgrade, then I think you can always update to whatever version you want.

Just the System Settings. Yes, default theme on sysnand. I have a demo installed on the unit before I started installing rxTools so that carried over to the emunand (which ofc got wiped when I formatted sysnand). Does it have something to do with the versions I'm using maybe?

I used the starter pack from smea's site, CTRBootManager 1.2 (the attached zip), and Homemenuhax 2.0

I don't think it has something to do with the starter pack.

Okay so you have formatted sysNAND.
Access the themes for the sysNAND and be sure that you alreayd have the theme data created.
You will install themehax again but only in sysNAND.

Now the sysNAND and emuNAND data should be separated from each other.

I'm confused. I installed HBL/Themehax while I was on sysnand. Am I supposed to boot to emunand first before I install it?

No, not at all.
They should be apart from each other by now. :/

Have you tried installing any CIAs yet?
If the CIA is carried over to your emuNAND, then they're still linked.

Only other thing I can think about is that you format emuNAND too from the System Setting for emuNAND.
Try the CIA verification first before doing anything else.
It sure sounds odd since I did just that some months ago and I have themehax booting only when I try to boot sysNAND and not emuNAND.

Wiped the HBL files and Themes folder from SD card to access emunand via browser. Just checked again, looks like I have default themes on both. These are my NANDs, the one with the Denpa Demo and FBI is the emuNand, the crappy photo is the sysNand. Set the theme back to default on sysnand.

Quick question:
When you boot up sysNAND, do you see the apps for Four Swords and the Denpa Demo trying to load but then they simply disappear when sysNAND finishes loading?

If that's the case, then it means that the NANDs are still linked. (Unless you installed BOTH apps in both NANDs separately)

No, they don't. Both of them were originally installed on the unit from the eShop way back. Everything seems to be ok here.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

So I'm back at the Boot Manager, booted rxTools. Does it affect anything if I set rxTools to force UI boot and not to boot to emuNand automatically?

Edit: Tried booting to emuNand, got the same result. Now stuck on a red screen at Boot Manager...

A couple of months ago I installed rxtools(don't know which version and don't know how to find out) on my O3DS and today I'm testing it out that smash bros is not working.
Is there a newer rxtools that runs the game?
Where can I find new versions of rxtools?

another try on rx latest build (rxTools_2015-11-24_15.20-378e20b), o3ds 9.0 us, emunand 10.3.
menuhax autoboot, ok
mhx demo showed up rightaway. (reg free, ok)
ssb runs ok
gba games run on emunand.
pasta mode, ok
play dstwo on emunand, erorr has occured.

which build allows DS fc runs on emunand? i think i've seen topic about this.

My dstwo works on my friend's new xl on latest firmware. No whitelist nor bluecartfix for my emunand, my sysnand has bluecartfix installed though. Is there anything whitelist does besides unblocking blocked dscart? because my dstwo never get blocked.
