Could this ever be possible? I no virtually nothing about DS homebrew, I was just wondering. I know there is some pretty cool DS homebrew out there.

INSTRUCTIONS:

Please discuss with a partner. Do you think this could happen? Why or why not?
Please write in black or blue ink only, letter format.

I wonder how many people will actually listen.

It kinda can. 9.2 or less though..

I don't think it's possible.... Because it's like saying can we can play DS Roms on the 3DS because they are the same format

I think it's only possible with the R4 or Flash Card that can play DS Games / Homebrew

ALRIGHT YOU TWO! I told you VERY specifically that you have to use blue or black ink ONLY! Stop with the white ink you pervs!

Really though it would make sense that you couldn't just load them straight, but could someone make a 3dsx that can run DS homebrew? Or is that out of the question?

Currently, that's out of the question. The 3DS boots into a separate mode for DS games. We have no access to that mode.

What if we could fool the 3ds into thinking that we have a legit nds game card but actually the game is in our sdcard?

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Also i read its possible to lauch dsi games on the 3ds now(using some hack/patch of sorts), can't we use that to launch normal nds games?

Wait a minute... What if we could trick the 3DS into thinking its a PS4, and play PS4 games! I think I'm on to something here guys!
-_-

I meant that we could make like a partition in our sdcard like we do for emunand and fool the 3ds into booting into ds mode while accessing the ds partition as a game kart

What way in any shape or form does that have to do with what he said? At the very least a 3DS has the ability to play regular DS games and has a DS mode on it to boot. The only problem is that we're limited in how to access it at this time. We can really only hope for a flashcart that passes off as a legit DS game software wise to play homebrew.

There are some DS homebrews ported over to 3DS, but that's because they had the source available to the public or the dev ported it themselves.
It's not that it's impossible to port them, you just need the source code to do so.

here is my submission. my partner was @VinsCool. click for a larger version.
I haven't written this much in a long time...to clarify, I am not saying that you can't port to 3DS, but you can't run existing ones without a flash cart.[/URL]
