Homebrew Browserhax is dead (on 9.9 and up)

And will manually installing a different CIA of the browser fix it?

Whenever you go to do something in the browser, it goes through this special url and then goes to the url you wanted to go to. I found this out a few years ago when trying to connect my 3ds to my schools wifi but the address was blocked whenever I tried to do anything on web browser since it contained the word "nintendo" in the url. They probably pushed a fix when the servers were down.

They didn't update the browser. I think it's just checking with Nintendo's servers to see if its the most up to date one.

What if we blocked nintendos servers or were able to edit the DNS and manipulate it?

Nintendo probably quietly slipped in a "feature" that blocks the 9.9+ web browser to not work if there is a new update out and just hasn't activated it until now.

it was switched off...so it was possible it got blocked in the meantime...but seems to not be the case...

I can confirm this is not the case, I just rebooted and tried browserhax and its still working. Im on 9.9.0.26U Old.
Anyone with my same firmware blocked? That may help us figure out what this is and what it isn't.

My theory is: if you used today the browser (i used for reinstall HBL) in a certain time (afternoon i used in that hour) nintendo can not ban your browser,in the case of shut down all the browser servers but they cannot because its more ¿difficult? maybe?,but i think that. In other words if you use the browser in the "time" of updating of the program you will not affected for the stupid update

My 3ds was off until I saw smealums tweet, I don't think it could have happened the way your describing it.
