Yes but when I try to import it nothing happens. I go into save manager hit the B button and something shows up for half a second and goes away! Also, in that folder (saveDataBackup), I have system and the user files. Should system be gone? Also, the new user 1 is in the folder, and for some reason, dec_user1 always seems to come back into the folder and I don't know how. All help is appreciated.

try starting with a simple edit like maxing zenny or caravan points. delete the dec_user1 file in the MH4U_savecrypt folder and all the files in the savedatabackup folder. make a new backup, pull the user1 file from the savedatabackup folder onto your desktop, you can leave the system file in the folder alone. now go into the mh4u_savecrypt folder and drag and drop the user1 file on your desktop on to save DEcrypt. so now you should have a dec_user1 file, edit it by maxing zenny or points and save. drag and drop the dec_user1 on to save ENcrypt and you should have a new user1 file in that same folder. move that new file into the savedatabackup folder and try importing it to your game. start up the game and check if it worked.

everytime you DEcrypt the user1 file a dec_user1 is gonna be made inside the mh4u_savecrypt folder, and instead of moving the user1 file on to your desktop put it in the mh4u_savecrypt folder

oh just remove the dec_user1 one from the savedatabackup folder and you should be able to import everything back into your game

IT WORKED THX SO DAMN MUCH!
no problem. so the dec_user1 doesn't pop up in the savedatabackup in the future anytime you make a back up to edit it cut and paste the user file into the mh4u_savecrypt folder, that way everything is contained in that folder and you can just move the new user file back to the savedatabackup folder

Did you try it multiple times? Works like a charm for me.

On a different note:
Does anybody know what the number beside "Armor Bias" means, when you edit a GQ?

Did you import the userX file after editing it? Here's how it works.
Backup Mh4U file in homebrew save manager.
Decrypt userX file (x represent number 1 2 or 3).
Edit it in editor (load, and then save)
Recrypt the file.
Go back to save manager and hit B to import the file back.
Go to Mh4U file you edited and have fun!

You will get the challenge quest unlocked once you make your HR go higher, the "single player" rank is not you HR per se, you need to do the "online" quest (you can do them solo they are not that difficult if you are already in the lvl 8 of the story mode) To do it quickly just use this guide http://www.gameskinny.com/i0uks/monster-hunter-4-ultimate-guide-how-to-raise-hunter-rank
