Homebrew Where do I get .3dsx files?

newbie question, I know. A few apps aren't showing up on the homebrew menu but definitely work on ironhax, probably because I don't know how to get their .3dsx file.

What firmware are you on and what are you trying to use.
 
Make sure the file path looks like this its the same for ANY homebrew
(Drive letter)-> 3ds ->App Folder (same name as App) ->App with SMDH
So for example D -> 3ds -> 3DSController -> 3DSController.3dsx/3DSController.smdh
 
No, an smdh isn't necessary, it just provides info and an icon for the homebrew.
And BTW, AFAIK FTP-3DS is better than ftpony, which I think is outdated.
 
Most homebrews are released in .3dsx form, and the few that aren't are usually compiled by someone else already and most are posted here somewhere. If you find a homebrew that isn't compiled yet it's not too hard, just setup the environment and run the command "make" in the project folder.
