So I recently(2 weeks ago) bought an O3ds and successfully installed Pasta/RXtools CFW. I followed a tutorial and all is dandy and well, I was wondering if I got a N3ds below 9.2 or at 9.2 would I be able to install the CFW using the web browser like i did with my 7.2 3ds? I used this guide right here without owning a gateway or cubic ninja https://gbatemp.net/threads/tutorial-installing-rxtools-custom-firmware-3ds-and-2ds.390867/ .

I know it says they do not support N3ds but I don't use this CFW I use the Pasta revision that does support N3ds so my question is, would the N3ds be moddable using the same method as I used on my O3ds?(No gateway,no skycard,no cubic ninja, web browser only) If not could I get a short explanation on why?

The New 3DS has a different browser than old 3DS, so no. Either get Cubic Ninja or OoT+ save dongle.

I appreciate the fast response bro thank you. Im starting to not feel as bad about getting an O3ds, I actually went through the trouble of opening about 20 used 3ds in two different gamestops just to get my O3ds for 120$ with the right FW. So basically I would have had to shell out a little bit under 360$ just to be able to play on a bigger screen? Thats crazy.

360? 200-220 for a n3ds and 30-50 for cubic ninja. 270 tops. Still o3ds is good enough and at the prices you can get them these days, a n3ds is tough to justify.

If the person knows what they are worth the N3ds with exploitable FW is going for $300 on buy out.Zelda is like 40-50$ and 20$ for the dongle. Ninja Cube is 40$, regardless of the price 270$ is still a bit much. What 3DS do you personally use?

Thats really well priced although in the USA they only sell XL's. I guess I will have to do some digging if I want to find a good deal, but its a bit off putting that I have to buy Cubic Ninja.
If you don't mind an Aus one I can sell you one that is already set up (have spare gateway cards too). Shipping is a bit expensive though.

Since there as so many of them listed on eBay, you could probably go around asking sellers of used systems about the firmware and sellers of new systems about the serial codes. Chances are good that you could find one below current retail price on the firmware you want. :)

Its possible but at the end of the day I might just stick with my O3ds, Its a real hastle trying to pin down a N3DS and the fact that I need Cubic Ninja is a bit off putting. I have to go on a scavenger hunt to get all the items I need to get a bigger screen for the same games. Maybe I am just a bit too old to be playing 3DS :glare:
