Hacking Question about running OoT in different firmware versions (same 3DS)

Hey there guys, I wanted to know if this would work: If I buy OoT in the store and then downgrade (by restoring the nand) would the game work?

I'm quite ignorant on the subject so I just wanted to be sure. Anyways now that I know it works I'm going to backup my nand by hardware, update, buy the game and then restoring back to 8.1.

Ohh, did you mean buying it in the eShop? No that won't work. You need the ticket on your 3DS to be able to redownload the game from the eShop, and that will be lost once you restore. You can inject the tickets from your updated NAND into the restored one, as long as you have a NAND backup with the ticket in it and the xorpads for your NAND, though messing with the NAND directly is risky business.
