Hi I'm just wondering what would I have to do to get my new 3ds xl monster hunter edition replaced by gamestop or nintendo? I bought a Warrenty through gamestop but if you think they won't replace my special edition then nintendo will have to do. I'm trying to get it replaced so I can not be a stupid person and update it like I did on this one so I can run gateway on it. Please help me.

No where in your post does it say that your console is broken or malfunctioning. So no, it shouldn't get replaced. Maybe you should sell it and buy a new one with lower firmware if that's what your after.

Your first post makes it appear you don't want it unless it works with a gateway. It also appears that you want to get gamestop or nintendo to replace it. Just a guess on my part that you don't want it anymore.

I do want it but i also want gateway im using my sisters old 3ds to do gateway but its not fun playing on 2 3ds's i just wanna use it on one and i want it on my monster hunter edition so i look cool and play cool lol. I just want my cake and eat it too. So i thought gamestop and nintendo could give me that option back.

What's wrong with it, why do you want it replaced?

I heard Nintendo might not give you another limited edition if they don't have them instock. ( they give you another refurbished instead of repairing most times )

Nintendo isn't going to downgrade your console for you, neither is gamestop. If you send it to nintedno for repairs, they will probably just send you a refurbished console back to you, and it probably won't be a MH special edition. Your best bet is to do what hippy dave said, or sell it and find a different console on lower firmware.

I haven't been gaming for such a long time. Been mostly busy with sleep, hardware tinkering and checking GBAtemp frequently.

Hope you've had a good morning.

It's going alright thanks :) I know what you mean with gaming time. It's precious where I can get it these days.

There's also this thing where I'm hyperfocused at night and cannot get to sleep.

    @Maximumbeans, I'm doing alright, thanks.

That must be rough. Productive I'm sure but hard to balance with daily life

@Maximumbeans, Indeed. I've been working on getting this Infecutus chip to work on my PS2. But after soldering, I realised that a plastic piece was missing from the power ribbon cable to the power and eject buttons.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Now I could go with soldering the contacts from the cable to the connector on the mobo, but doesn't sound like a good permanent solution.

Man, that's beyond my brain  I'm no good with hardware for now. I'd like to get into hardmods in future though
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Maybe start practice soldering. Get a cheap-ass soldering iron and follow some good YouTube tutorials.

Least my experience has gotten better than over a decade ago. My iron would constantly bump into components and break them.
  • Maximumbeans @ Maximumbeans:
Sounds good. I actually did soldering but like 16 years ago for school so uuuuh probably rusty haha
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Same here. I did soldering at school from a teacher who I honestly liked since he had plenty of good electronics experience.

It was like all clear and fancy. Tbf I'm not too experienced with chess, but would like to learn someday.
