the only negitave i know about is that if you start a new game that doesn't match the save on the made, it will be deleted

savedata/savestate Backup (system settings) and save states (in game) work good together :P

The ROM sizes have to match for it to work. I should know. I attempted to load Lufia: The Legend Returns (4MB) with the Zelda Oracles games (2MB) on 9.2 with no success. :(

Probably you can load Lufia with the Shantae VC game (4GB)...

So I can assume only one save is allowed?

What if you had two GBC VC games? I take it the save is stored for that VC game as it still thinks it's the game you're playing to run the exploit. So theoretically two different GBC VS games = the ability to have two exploited game saves?

For some reason when I try this i get a green screen, but when I click reset on my Virtual console game, my 2ds crashes. I am trying to boot Pokemon Yellow with Links awakening DX and my system firmware is 9.5.0-22U.

... You're trying to boot a game boy game with a game boy color program...

kazowars video shows him playing yellow with links awakening dx

Indeed Pokemon Yellow uses the gbc extension so it should work. I think the confusion comes from the fact that the gameboy games came in 3 formats: "GB", "GB/GBC" and "GBC-only". Pokemon Yellow belongs to the second format since it was programmed to show colors in a gameboy color but was also playable on a regular gameboy, much like link's awakening DX works too.
