I ordered a Gateway today and have some questions about it. Thoughts are appreciated :)

1. Is it worth downgrading my system with Gateway?
2. If I don't downgrade, what all can I use GW for?
3. I am concerned about losing my Retail cart saves, thoughts on this?

My 3DS FW is 9.2.0-20U. I am on the fence about downgrading: I want to be able to use the Gateway and its features, but don't want to lose retail saves since I also like to use cheats through the Powersaves 3DS device... Is there a way to use both?

Pokemon is a whole different ballgame. There is a big thread on it here. In general most of your retail cart saves will be lost if you downgrade to 4.x and try to play them. Unless this is fixed by GW there will be no downgrading for me. See the sticky on this sub that explains it all in more detail.

1. Do you want to be able to access your Gateway without being connected to the internet? Your answer is the answer to your question.
2. You can still use GW to play roms and what not. Main difference is that you absolutely have to connect to the internet and go to the exploit website to be able to access GW mode.
3. I haven't been able to copy my retail saves to my gateway roms. But I am not too concerned because not only do I want to play most of these games again at some point, I would like to keep some of my games as a physical collection. I'll use gateway for games that I want to play but don't want to buy.
