Hacking 3DS flashcart Question

I'm in the market for a 3DS flashcart, and Since i'm currently running 9.20.-20U, I guessing my only option is the Gateway, unless I'm wrong.

Also, does anyone know a legit US reseller that can ship a card to New York by by next week?

you really only want to be looking at either gateway or Sky3DS, both play roms but at some point you will need to reconsider your options depending on what you wish to keep your 3DS firmware on.

you either get a gateway or a Sky3ds but i personally recommand the gateway because of it various features(emunand,multirom...)
and about the reseller i think that modchipfactory is a newyork based resseler but i am not sure , wait for another replie

yeah either the gateway and sky3ds are your best options, currently i only have the gateway, and its GREAT.

www.realhotstuff.com is located in New jersey and the have both the gateway and sky3ds in stock at the moment. He has always shipped out items really fast, not sure about tomorrow though since it is the MLK holiday.

I've never even heard of Modchipfactory, but I bought my DS2 from Realhotstuff if Memory serves.
I'm leaning towards RHS now

And as for which cart, I kinda want to go Gateway, but I'm a little confused, what exactly are .cia files?

Basically, they are games that you install to your 3ds sd card.

No, you still need to run gateway mode to be able to play .cia files, so the gateway still needs to be in the card slot.

But there are some games that people have figured out how to turn the .cia into a .3ds file, such as Ace Attorney - Dual Destinies.

There are Gateway, Sky3DS and QQ3DS. Basically QQ is copying Sky but got a ds game emulation more.
I would personally either buy Gateway for the emunand and multirom support. While QQ3ds is just the overall cheap solution if u wanna play ds games too.
Otherwise you would be buying a DSTWO for DS Games.

main advantage of cia files if lets just say tomorrow a update comes out and sky3ds is blocked, so no eshop access for updates etc, and gateway emunand is blocked so no eshop either......with the 3ds you dont need to be on the latest FW to play online, your game only needs to be running the latest patch from eshop(where applicable)....so in this theoretical situation gateway and sky3ds are now stuck on 9.4(emunand)/9.4 and smash bros or pokemon or whatever gets a new patch, with gateway you could still install it and still play online even on 9.4, where as with sky3ds its update and loose the card, or not update and loose online

plus with gateway you get easy region free, rom editing, save editing and all that good stuff

gateway supports homebrew natively, sky3ds support homebrew if you stay on 9.2 or lower and use cubic ninja....so basically you loose the only advantage sky3ds has which is 9.3/9.4 compatibility if you want homebrew with sky3ds

Woah, Save editing? Is it on par with Powersave? Because that was another thing on my list of things to buy, if gateway can do what Powersave can, I'm making that purchase immediately now

you can do more than powersaves ....but on less games (yeah there is always a catch)...but basically proper save editing like cybergadget.....look for pkhex, full save editor for X/Y and ORAS, some other games have save editors like fantasy life....but for other games you have the option of researching the save yourself and making your own mods for it if you know how

Now that's what I dislike, I've been buying Flashcarts since 2007, never once did I get a fake card (Though, my Supercard was flimsy as hell, its still official with the sticker and all that, though).
I would hate to get a fake one after all this time, I mean, gateways aren't exactly cheap

thats why there is an official resellers list on their official homepage. So i dont exactly see the problem
There were fakes for nearly every cart, even r4 got fakes.

Yeah, but the fact that fake cards exist make me a little cautious.
I just don't want any issue.
I remember a while back, someone got a fake flashcart from a verified reseller, but they were nice enough to replace it with a legit card.
I don't even want to be put in that kind of situation

Hmm cant say that for sure, but I think that if a reseller is from the website, they will make sure its not a fake
