My small white new 3DS came with 9.0.0-20E

By the way... how do you turn off wifi on this thing? I can't find the wifi switch. Do I then need to erase my wifi settings?

edit -

not to worry, got it:
  1. From the HOME Menu, tap the key icon in the upper left corner.

Can anyone confirm the ones in store are still <9.2? Given that Gateway has said 9.3+ doesn't work (and as far as we know, may never work), and given that it's a safe bet that the new 3DS will be 9.4+ when it hits Europe, I'm seriously considering getting an AUS one and sitting on it, til Gateway release their update. The only problem is, I would have no way of returning a console, if the firmware was too high. Since games are region locked, an unhacked AUS 3DS would basically just be a brick here in Europe.

An unhacked aus 3ds would work fine in Europe it's pretty much the same model that will eventually be released in Europe just saying. Also no reports of anything higher than 9.2 yet mine was 9.0 and bought on release date.

Aus games and Eur games are interchangeable? If true, that would be awesome.

The EU and AU games are the same, as are the consoles.

So yes you should have no problem using EU games if you bought a console from here (Aus). :)

Cheers!! Maybe that will be a nice Xmas present from me to me then ^_^. I appreciate the feedback from you guys.

sorry to bump up this old topic, but if anyone has gotten a white regular N3DS recently, can you post what firmware it came with? I'm thinking of ordering from play-asia but want to make sure it's under 9.2 first.

It's not Play Asia who charge customs. It's the country you live in.

I paid almost $90 as customs on my N3DS XL :(
