I can't even launch the game, it says not enough free space on the SD card. Pretty annoying.

The rom doesn't even appear on the rom list for me, even though I have over 1gb free space on the SD still

4gb, partitioned in half of course.
I deleted a few things and got it working, took a while to connect with FTP Pony though.

You installed it as CIA ? If yes did you use the fonction to make the rom region free ?
I'm installing it with dev menu but the importing step is so slooooooooooooooooooow Like it's only 70% after like 20/30 minutes xD

EDIT :
Crap took like 40 minutes to install the CIA, and it doesn't work :\
Will try with the one I made without the region free option. If doesn't work too then idk if i'll play with the room on gateway or wait for aus release.

Oh, the demo reward can be transfer to other region game so you don't have to wait for the US rom.

Oh, the demo reward can be transfer to other region game so you don't have to wait for the US rom.

technically for pokemon, it's the same rom.
They just changed the region byte in the icon so that region locked 3ds won't load,
but gateway totally bypasses that.

can i play online with the japanese rom without problems with the future updates of the game or may i do something first? can i change for example de region of the game from japan to usa? or may i wait until the usa release?

^ Also interested in this. Besides the methods that have already been posted (install updates as .cia or edit the save's region to your own later on), can you actually edit the region of this release?
