Hello,
So i just converted my first 3 .3ds to .cia and 1/3 was completely successful. I have the following questions I would love answered (I am using a gateway with latest emunand):

1. How do I install gbc games as .Cia? I downloaded pokemon crystal and it was in .cia and it refused to install (after reaching 99% gave me an error).
2. How do I change the icons for the gbc games? They all show up as a gameboy picture (in gateway rom menu) and they are all under the name pokemon crystal. (I plan to install as .cia)
3. How do i transfer my saves from gateway to .cia games? I heard about this card1 and card 2 stuff, but i have no idea what that is really.
4. I am using 3ds lazy tool. Is it necessary for me to click "yes" for region spoof, remove region lock, or the other option that pops up?
5. Can I just download a rom, change it to .3dz, and convert it for onlineplay? or does this .3dz stuff need more that just renaming?
6. I installed super mario bros deluxe and super mario bros 3 nes. When I hover over them (before i launch the games) there is this big white rectangular block that shows on my upper screen under the picture of the gameboy. How do I remove it/ prevent it from happening.

Thank you so much!!

1. VC games cannot be installed as .cia files through the current methods.
2. You have games that were injected into the base game of Pokemon Crystal. You would need to re-inject them yourself, using one of the guides here on GBATemp.
3. If there's a way, it's too complicated for me to mess with. I don't think it is possible, but I could eb wrong.
4. Region-free is only necessary for those using CFW but not Gateway or EmuNAND.
5. Any game installed as .cia will work online without any patching. Gateway 3DS ROMs must be patched with the Gateway ROM Patcher v1.x and a different header.
6. There are instructions on the forums to show you how to enable full-screen or original screen and a few other settings. On the same topic as injecting VC ROMs.

thanks Neo Draven. For question 6 though, what I mean is that, before I launch a game, when I am at the home menu, if I hover over say, super mario bros 3 nes, i cant see the "super mario bros 3 nes" title because of this white block of strip just covering it. Ill post a picture soon if you dont know what I mean .

Since this topic is about CIAs thought maybe i should just ask here too...

Do CIAs get installed on the SD card or the Micro SD Card?
I'm already using a 64microsd card... would suck if i would need to get a regular size SD Card for CIAs x)s

They are installed on the 3DS's SD card. Of course you can use a microSD to SD adapter.

You can manually build VC.cia from pre-made VC.3ds without any problem (like not saving...).
Not so different from making cia from dumped 3ds.

Convert with current tools

like

or

and make your own rsf for VC which is described in many other posts
Could you possibly please clarify a bit? I am using the 3ds lazy tool and I have no idea what an rsf is, or pictorial.

Neo Draven, I am sorry to bother, but this is the picture I wanted to show you. There is just this white strip which is really annoying. That is what I am really trying to get rid of here. Also, if it matters, I trimmed the CIA, and installed it through 9.2 emunand. The game does not show up until i run emunand actually. By this i mean that when i first start up the 3ds, the only cia i installed that is present is might gunvolt (which does not have the white strip by the way way super mario bros deluxe). The same thing happens with uper mario bros 3 nes.

Anyway, here is the image. I also posted this in the 3ds lazy thread but know one replied so I was kinda counting on you :/

thanks.
