I've been Softmodded for little over a year now and I've been enjoying every minute of it. However.. I've recently began to see framerate issues I don't remember seeing in these games I played as a teenager.

- Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles and Darkside Chronicles
- Silent Hill Shattered Memories
- Monster Hunter
I.e the list goes on. I've been seeing framerate issues with those games that I never noticed as a teenager.
But then again I'm using an External Hard Drive as the source and I'm not sure if that's what the issue is.
Now the other issue is I can't seem to get Call Of Duty to play off my HDD. In fact it doesn't even load. When I try to start the games the screen goes black and the wii just basically freezes itself. I've tried 249, 250 and even 224 using D2x v10 B 52 and previous versions, however I tried Wan's 21. Cios for 250 and when I tried to load the games they actually rebooted the wii or the loader.

I'm not so concerned about COD as I am the framerates. So I'm curious if the games have always had this issue and I've never just noticed it till now or is the issue more complicated because of the HDD and softmodding.

As a side note I was using Usb Loader GX the newest rev 1231? I've also heard it could just be the games themselves because they're third party and first party nintendo products don't have this issue. I haven't tested this theory but in all honestly most nintendo products wouldn't be heavy enough to kill the framerates right? Any help is appreciated!

Edit: Might as well add some info huh? The USB HDD I'm using is http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CI3BISU/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and this drive is partitioned for WBFS and Gamecube games. I've ran through certain scenarios of if this could be the problem and I'm around 65% that it very well could be.

I'll grab a systemchk for you guys soon.

Edit #2: I just made a video. Made it easier so you guys know whats happening. It also includes the SysCheck at the end around 21 minutes. You can notice the framerate drop dramatically as soon as leon and krauser enter the market, while it may be somewhat hard to notice through the video it is still there. You'll notice the jump from 60 to what I assume is 30 or below. You'll also see me trying to play a COD game that just freezes my wii.

WBFS? When exactly did you softmod? WBFS has been deprecated since... I don't even remember. 2010?
Yeah, March 2010. 4 and a half years ago.

I've been Softmodded for little over a year now. If I remember correctly I couldn't get the ISO's to pop up in USB L. Gx or any other loaders I believe. So I switched and tried WBFS and worked perfectly. If this could be the culprit then damn.. Wouldn't have expected that to be the issue.

Bump?

I need to mention as well, I play this on a capture card into AmarecTv (Program) which forces 60fps with deinterlacing. I'm not 100% sure but the fact it's forcing 60fps might be causing that issue too? There is alot of possibility's and I don't have a tv to experiment with.
Thinking about trying ISO instead of WBFS now with one of these games and seeing how that works.

This is not relates to WBFS or ISO.
Better look for your Wiis video settings.
If possible always use componenet leads for 480p video output,
Also make sure you are not forcing a video output other than the games region video ( NTSC or PAL )

Make sure NAND save emulation is disabled in usb loader GX.

For COD games make sure you use a cios based upon ios 57.
If you have softmodded your properly this will be in slot 250.
You can set this is your games option, accordingly.

Forget everything you heard about WBFS and ISO, Nintenso 1st party etc.
Thi is not the problem, the problem most certainly lies in region/ video matching.

Well about two days ago I went forced my WBFS format to fat32 using wbfs. So far the games run better. However I didn't get to test this extensively. I'm either going to pin this framerate issue as a Wii hardware problem or the fact I'm using a cheap capture card through a program running it at 60fps with deinterlacing. I was able to test my wii on a tv and maybe it was just my eyes but on the tv I didn't notice the framerate issues.

As far as output goes I'm using a 3rd party S-Video Cable capable of composite output too. I don't have component cables yet so that'll have to wait.
Games are on [Auto] region or Video, whatever it's called. Unless needing to be forced those settings aren't messed with.
Maybe trying to run it in 16:9 without a 480p output is causing it? I dunno it can be alot of things but it seems like it's fixed since I was able to change the entire format and defrag my harddisk.
