Posted my question in another thread but not getting any replies so I'll try it here.
http://gbatemp.net/threads/full-vwii-softmod.339899/

I'm preparing the SD card following this guide ^ and at the usb loader part I'm not sure which I'm supposed to use? I'm guessing its IOS 249.dol but better double check with the pros.B-)
https://code.google.com/p/usbloader-gui/downloads/list Also at the d2x cIOS part, the download only gives you one option which is the d2x-v10-beta53-alt-vwii, is that the best one to use?

  • beta52 - Has better support for NAND emulation (eg. loading Virtual Console/WiiWare from a virtual NAND), but handles only 1 USB port (so try both) and lacks support for plug-and-play (USB needs to be connected before starting the USB loader)
  • beta53-alt - Worse for NAND emulation, but does support plug-and-play and both USB ports.

Well, first you would need to decide which one you want to use (USB Loader GX vs Configurable USB Loader vs Wiiflow - I'd stick with USB Loader GX or Neogamma works too if you don't want anything fancy and just want to play games from USB).
As for getting a download your best bet is looking in http://filetrip.net/
Neogamma loader (Homebrew Channel)
Neogamma Channel Forwarder (needs above download)(optional)
USB Loader GX (Homebrew Channel)
USB Loader GX Forwarder (needs above download)(optional)

Bit of a problem , was using the dump mii nand tool and it was taking a long time for it to finish. I fell asleep while it was finishing up ( was at 1024/4097 ) and when I turn on the tv the next day it's back on the wiiu home menu. Did the wiiu just turn it self off after a while? how can I see if everything was successful? Should I do another backup? - Got that solved :)

Also homebrew channel now runs with black bars on the side, before the restart It was full screen, anyway to fix that?

New problem! Can't install d2x-v10-beta52-vwii, doesn't show up on the dx cIOS installer , only option going right is d2x v6? I have it setup as \apps\d2x-cios-installer mod v2.2\d2x-v10-beta52-vWii, tried it without the folder, nothing. Also accidentally pressed A right after the remote turned on and it tried to install some IOS ( 37 something ) but failed.

You need to install Joostinonline's forwarder to fix that, on the forums and easily found.

I can't believe you got me with that

I haven't been gaming for such a long time. Been mostly busy with sleep, hardware tinkering and checking GBAtemp frequently.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Hope you've had a good morning.
  • Maximumbeans @ Maximumbeans:
It's going alright thanks :) I know what you mean with gaming time. It's precious where I can get it these days.

I think that's why I focus on just enjoying single player experiences that aren't too competitive
  • Maximumbeans @ Maximumbeans:
    How are you doing?
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
There's also this thing where I'm hyperfocused at night and cannot get to sleep.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
    @Maximumbeans, I'm doing alright, thanks.

That must be rough. Productive I'm sure but hard to balance with daily life

@Maximumbeans, Indeed. I've been working on getting this Infecutus chip to work on my PS2. But after soldering, I realised that a plastic piece was missing from the power ribbon cable to the power and eject buttons.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Now I could go with soldering the contacts from the cable to the connector on the mobo, but doesn't sound like a good permanent solution.
  • Maximumbeans @ Maximumbeans:
Man, that's beyond my brain  I'm no good with hardware for now. I'd like to get into hardmods in future though
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Maybe start practice soldering. Get a cheap-ass soldering iron and follow some good YouTube tutorials.

Least my experience has gotten better than over a decade ago. My iron would constantly bump into components and break them.
  • Maximumbeans @ Maximumbeans:
Sounds good. I actually did soldering but like 16 years ago for school so uuuuh probably rusty haha
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Same here. I did soldering at school from a teacher who I honestly liked since he had plenty of good electronics experience.

@Maximumbeans, I had a friend who had a glass chess set for their birthday.

It was like all clear and fancy. Tbf I'm not too experienced with chess, but would like to learn someday.

    That sounds really cool
