im not 100% sure but i think it just sets up a new content folder, so any content would need to be redownloaded from the eshop....but again im not 100% sure, i might have a lil try later, but im pretty sure the console ID is whats used for accessing the eshop as long as its using the same NNID that downloaded stuff to the console previously, but you will need to redownload them and you will likely loose your saves and stuff

just try not to format, and have a emunand dump of your emunand setup and you will always be able to restore it and use the existing content

sure that makes sense, if the eshop stuff is not based on console id (and nnid too now) then that doesn't seem a good idea of doing things

I do not mean to troll or offend anyone, I would only like an honest answer - what are the reasons to NOT share this firmware? Gateway business is a quite grey area in itself and I don't see how they could threaten anybody with legal action for sharing any of their content.

Anyone sharp enough to install Gateway on their system will surely know what are the risks of using buggy beta software.

And it's out!

Early this week we released our latest Gateway OMEGA 2.3b firmware to our beta testers.
We have received a lot of positive feedback from our beta testers and we would like to thank them for taking the time to test the latest update.
Our beta testers have mentioned a few minor issues:
* The Gameboy Advance virtual console games and DSiWare are not working yet.
We acknowledge this and we will try to get it working after the next firmware release.

* Emunand 8.x boots up slower.
We have observed this too for some brands of SD cards. We suggest our users to try a different brand or a faster SD card.

Other than that no major issues have been observed so far, so we decided it’s time for a public release!
You can find the latest firmware Gateway OMEGA 2.3b in the Downloads section.

As always, ENJOY!

Is there any difference with this official release or is it still the same as the beta? I am guessing that it is the same since they are still using "2.3b" instead of just "2.3". I will probably download and use the official one instead of the leaked version just to be safe. I was mainly wondering if there were any minor bug fixes (I have not had any issues...).

If you already downloaded the leaked file there is no reason to redownload the public release. It's the same checksum, same launcher.dat.

Thanks.

They sent me an email today saying thanks for my feedback I sent them and that I'll get more betas in the future. They also said the betas will be more limited because of links.

Hello I'm kind of new to this forum sort of. I have a midnight purple 3ds with firmware 4.3.0-9u. I'll be buying a gateway card soon so for now I decided to use my r4I gold 3ds rts to install gateway 3ds omega v2.3b ,followed by having gw3d 4.3.0-9u. Next I went back in to backup the emunand thus saving it on my pc to format the emunand for a update. I entered gw3d and went to update to have whatever Nintendo update the 3ds to. When the update was finish, I went back into gateway and decided to launch classic mode , but when I got in it will just freeze on a black screen. I would like to know how would I go about fixing it ? I can remove it by formatting it and 4.3 would work on classic mode ,but not on the update. I really wanted to use the eshop etc. 0829142217.jpg 0829142216.jpg 0829142215.jpg

Noob question:

How do I emunand?
I never used emunand since it was not necessary for my gaming needs, but I want to be able to play my MK7 personal rip online (and need the update for online play from the eShop)
I tried to google it, as well as googled the contents of this thread, but to no avail....
I hoped there would be a noob guide on this somewhere, but could not find it

I currently have:
E4.4 firmware, and just updated my GW card to this newest version, loading roms works fine.
Is it just as simply as entering GW mode, and update via the system settings?
Any things I should know of in order to prevent accidently updating sysNAND?

EDIT:
Never mind, I used this guide: http://www.dsflashcart.com/blog/how...d-format-emunand-feature-to-play-eshop-games/

and was able to install an emuNAND and access the eShop to grab the MK7 update.
Apparently I first had to format emuNAND even though I had never used it.

Interestingly:
I can play my original MK7 cart on a 3DS without the 1.1 update versus my MK7 rip on my other 3DS which does not have this update.
Apparently when playing through local Wi-fi it does allow the use of the shortcuts that are banned through the update, even if the update has been installed
