Hacking Any Gateway Users Near Paris?

I'm sure you all know about the Pokémon Center Paris event distributing the exclusive Pokéball form Vivillon for X and Y.

Since this one is just local wireless and not online, you don't need online features, which is nice as it means we can share the save without having to give away someone's cartridge ID


I can prepare a quick save that can be loaded up in a ROM of Pokémon X, all I would need someone to do is go to the Pokémon Center, receive mystery gift over wireless, and upload the save once you have it. It's important that the Pokémon is not picked up from the Pokémon Center.

I don't feel like repeating what I said about PIDs and why it's imperative that each one is unique, but that's why I'm not using the "community saves", don't even ask me that. If you really want to know, ask and I'll paste what I've already written for other threads.

PS - it would be super nice if whoever can do this for me could get one in each game language, that way everybody will be happy. Unfortunately I don't know an easy way to do this unless you take a laptop or something, as you'd have to swap out the saves - and it doesn't look like Gateway will recognize multiple copies of the same ROM on the same MicroSD (if you have several MicroSD cards, that would work)

How about this?

Just an idea.

Get someone with a legit game and legit 3ds, as well as a 4.5 3ds and x/y rom and:

1) Get them to do the event, using their legit 3DS
2) Have them trade the event pokemon from their legit game, to their rom.
3) Have them backup their rom from Gateway to the PC (So you now have the pokemon on your PC and on your gateway) - technically 2 save files.
4) Trade the pokemon (from the rom on the gateway cart) to anyone who wants it (remember, you've still got the pokemon on your PC's rom)

There ya go. You've theoretically cloned the event pokemon.

I'd love one. Is this France-only?

There is a thing known as a Pokémon identifier, or PID, basically each Pokémon ever generated by the game will have a random ID value that determines its stats, gender, everything about it. The odds of two of them being identical are astronomical. So if two (or a lot more than that, since this is a public forum) have the exact same PID, it's a huge red flag that you cheated/hacked/cloned/whatever the case may be.

That's why I want a save BEFORE the Pokémon is picked up from the Pokémon Center, that way anyone with a Gateway can just load it up, pick one up and it'll be guaranteed to be unique.

If all you want is one of the Vivillons, I can trade you one assuming I'm able to find somebody to fulfill my request. I'll get you a unique one

I'm super anal about my event Pokémon, and have been ever since I learned about the random nature of Pokémon IDs. I used to clone everything back in the RSE days, but now that you can actually battle online and such, it's generally a really bad idea to use cloned Pokémon.

I just want to help out the community and I wish more people knew about or acknowledged random PIDs rather than just cloning everything

How sure are you that the PID isn't just generated at some random even prior to picking it up (much like when you're breeding and the stats of the next egg are generated once you've either accepted or declined the previous egg from the Day-Care Man)?

Going into an official Nintendo store (a pokemon center is a nintendo store) with a flashcart, doesn't really seem like a smart idea though. x'D

I went to Pokemon Center yesterday (the last day) and got the Vivillon with my Gateway. But I did not see your message, so I already picked up the special Vivillon. So just to say that it was possible and nobody noticed that I used a Gateway.

it is possible to extract the wondercard from it, if you take the save with the vivillon wondercard, and then take another save after you delete the wondercard. (it doesn't matter if you picked the pokemon up at the center)
(if you want to keep the wondercard data in your records, just restore the save before hand)

when it is possible to inject wondercards into saves, then anyone can receive the vivillon at the moment it is not useful.

would you be willing to upload here/send me/upload to projectpokemon.org (they are pokemon geniuses) - so that people can extract the wondercard data?
i understand that maybe you don't want to make your save public, but i am sure if you simply send it to one person at projectpokemon.org, they will look after you

smart idea? they wouldn't even notice, no one would know, nothing would even happen if they found out. the event is wireless, you could even stand outside the store if you get signal

In our country flashcarts have been ruled illegal a few years ago. That's why french online retailers for these became rare or pretty much nonexistent and we can only find crappy clone cards in secondhand markets now.

Indeed not much people would make a great deal about it if they find out, still, the charges are quite serious. I would not take the risk myself.

I don't care about my save, I don't play very often nor had the time to build my team. I just have one question : I have to extract the save from my rom or I can send it directly to you ?

and we can all use MACyle to collect the vivillons ourself.

you have to extract the save yes

with pokemon and some other games, the save is stored in the rom file itself. (the save is not in a seperate save file, like most games)
you are using gateway, so the .3ds file contains the save. (if you were using a retail cart, you would have to dump your whole game, to get the save)

you could send your whole rom, but that's illegal etc, it's 2gb, not a good idea.
