Hacking Bravely default question

Hey I'm really interest in playing BD but have been a bit put off by the idea of villagers. Can you play the game without the villagers or do they majorly effect the game? And has anyone got a save with villagers on that is compatible with gateway 1.2 firmware.

rebuilding the town gets you extra weapons and items and armors and special skill stuff
weapons and armors can't be found in other places
you can do it with 1 villager it will just take a very long time 99h+ for many things

you can have 20 villager if you used the demo trick

use streetpass can get you them
or
you forget about using gateway buy the game and update

or buy a new 3ds of newer games the need online

Or do the NAND read/write hardware mod, update, buy the game, play and when you're done, go back to 4.5 to enjoy gateway!
 
Thanks for the input guys. I don't trust myself setting up emumand, I would most likely update my 3ds. I've tried the save with from a thread here and for some reason it won't work with gateway firmware 1.2, I'm a bit reluctant to use 2.01 and 2.02b because of the saving and bricking risk.
 
there hasn't been a single report of brick 2.0b1 or 3.0 in that matter , and shouldn't be since the only bricks should be on the brick code found on 3.1+ and 2.0b2 , I'm using 3.0 and haven't had a single save error yet ( i'm taking measures to prevent it tho) , only shitty thing is the 3ds freezing sometimes when starting the exploit. But I don't turn off my ds until I go to sleep , so it's not that bad for me
 
Just out of curiosity, does someone have a quick list\link of the game list that have online feature unavailable with Gateway?

Demo Trick? That involves street pass too right?

Does Bravery Default work with Firmware Spoofing?

yes you can play bravely with gw 1.2 but be warned the save will not work on gw 2.0bx so pick one and stick to it
